Romney made an excellent point about returning the 716 billion that obama took from medicare. that should certainly make seniors in Fla more confortable.

    Killjoy.

It would be nice to see a libertarian tear both of them apart, wouldn't it?

Well maybe, but lets not stray from our goal of removing obama.

I seem to recall that champions have come back from a knockout to win the championship again. Last night Obama was "knocked out." But the election is still a month off. Anything is possible. Intrade still has Obama at 67% and Romney at 33%. Objectively, virtually everyone says that Romney won hands down. That's why I avoided the spin doctors deliberately. I scored this like a boxing match. Obama won a round or two but he was also beat to a bloody pulp by the end of the match. Another "match" like this could very well doom him. Look for some October surprise; perhaps a war in the Gulf. Wouldn't be the first time.

We know what his plan is, more detail on his website. Repeating this canard doesn't change that. What we DON'T know is Obama's plan. And he certainly gave no clue last night, all he did was make fallacious statements about Romney's.

If we look at just presentation alone, Romney certainly won. Unfortunately, it seems like that's all many people noticed and are handing him a "victory". However, it's not that simple, or at least, it shouldn't be. Based on substance, Obama won, without question. He more clearly explained his views with more detail, while Romney was more vague and abstract. Yes, Romney was more specific than he has been in the past, but he still refused to provide any of the finer details.

The thing is, many of the specifics Romney did give were either completely contradictory with how he has expressed his views in the past, or blatant, through-his-teeth lies. Frankly, I'm disappointed in Obama for not jumping on him for these.

It's a shame that most people seem to have only noticed the theatrics and not so much of the substance, which is what should be important. Because of this, I give the win to Obama. However, he needs to step up his game in the next debate and not let the BS get past him.

    Romney won the debate.

    But didn't change anyone's minds.

I only watched the last 20 minutes and I saw Obama pass at least 3 opportunities to cut Romney off at the knees.

That would have been fun for the Chris Matthews crowd but would have been very unproductive from a political viewpoint.

Example: Obama on Obamacare could have said something like...

"Five years ago you said that YOUR plan should be a model for the country. Nine months ago you said the exact same plan for the country should be repealed. Last month you said you like some parts of the pan and would keep them. Now the real question is which Mitt Romney is here tonight. I don't know. The American people don't know. I'm not even sure you know anymore."

The left would have loved it.

The problem for Obama though is that that sort of response would turn off a significant number of white voters in states like Ohio, Florida, and Virginia. Obama is still a black man and he's smart enough to take that into account.

    Did you notice though....

When Romney answered a question he would go through his practiced speech then look to his right and grin like a sixth grader who had just gotten a word right in a spelling bee.

    Just interesting.

There is? 'Cause I'm looking at it now, and I don't see any. Perhaps you could provide us with a link.

Were we watching the same debate? Obama gave much more detail to his plans than Romney did. Plus, Obama wasn't blatantly lying through his teeth about things, either.

Obama did NOT know his facts, he made them up, and proved how clueless he is on economic matters and business. He had to cry UNCLE at the end of the tax debate portion and ask the moderator to help him out by moving on to another subject. He offered noting but the typical pablum, which he has not given specifics and spent most of the night with his fallacious assertions about Romney's plan which Romeny refuted point by point by point leaving Obama as the deer in the headlights.

NO ONE but Obama's own staff is proclaiming Obama won this thing and in fact are saying he lost and lost badly.

If you only watched the last 20 minutes then you are clueless. Frank Lutz's after debate panel was made up from last years voting of 10 McCain voters and 13 Romney voters. When asked how many were undecided before about 2/3 said they were, when ask about after the debate all but 2 said they were convinced Romney was their choice.

Sorry for working a 16 hour day. I know in "conservative" world that makes me a leech.

Isn't Frank Lutz the Republican focus group guy who specializes in "secret words" and dog whistles?

So out of 23 guys who voted for McCain or Romney in 2008 only 21 said they would vote for romney in 2012? Sounds like a loss to me.

There were few undecided voters watching last night. "Undecided" voters were watching Family Guy or Storage Wars or playing on their PS3.

I watched the debate and I thought Romney clearly won. My wife listened to the debate on the radio and she thought Obama may have won. I think the visual cues that cost Obama the debate was that he was always looking down lie he got caught doing something wrong or he was smirking. Neither behavior is very presidential.

I have no idea what you are talking about. What rhetoric was Romney using before? He sounded the same as when I've ever heard him! Could it be that you just never paid attention? Yes, it could be that.

You are wrong about the undecideds they were watching last night, you'll see. It was the Obama voters who were watching cartoons, reality tv, and playing video games. Because, they don't have to watch they will vote for obama no matter what...no matter what anyone says especially the two candidates.

I saw that. Obama would do the same thing after he completed a speech from the Teleprompter.

If that was a tie the Cubs just won the World Series. I never seen such a hands down beating in a debate in my life and I am pushing 50.

It doesn't mean you have a clue about a debate you only watched the last 20 minutes.
If you aren't then go look him up.

    My typo

If you only watched the last 20 minutes then you are clueless. Frank Lutz's after debate panel was made up from last years voting of 10 McCain voters and 13 Obama voters. When asked how many were undecided before about 2/3 said they were, when ask about after the debate all but 2 said they were convinced Romney was their choice.

And your statement of fact is based on what exactly. In fact Romney just got a HUGE shift in the independent undecided voters.
