It only includes two days post-debate. Tomorrow will be the first with 3 total days post-debate.

With Ryan ready to stomp Biden this week, and then Obama having to defend a dismal Foreign Policy the following week, expect some heinous October Surprises from the Chicago punks.

Q: How low can they go ?

    A: Is there a limit ?

National polling is rather worthless at this point. You need the breakdowns for the 12 or so battleground States which are going to decide this election.

Rassmussen is pretty much mirroring all the other major polling sites within a point or two. I wouldn't dismiss it without dismissing all of em.

No they are not, they never do, they make up numbers from whole cloth.
No one, no one trusts rasmussen.

Not really, its all about the numbers.

Obama has a huge chunk of people relying on their government handouts who will never vote against him, this is probably 70% of his base. Then you have the stupid kids who fall for the democratic spin and are too lazy to research the issues so they will vote for him. Then you have the normal folk who put such faith in Obama that they simply do not have the balls to admit they were wrong and move on. They will ride the S.S. Obama straight to the bottom of the ocean before they'll wipe that egg from their face.

Frankly, it is just as valid as any state polling right now. Further, with Rasmussen, they are applying a more grounded turn-out model, as compared to the recent state polling by Marist/NBC, which has been debunked multiple times already.

Bottom line, this poll is currently way more accurate than most of the state polls.

Yes but its factoring in variables that skew the battleground States. For instance, what happens is California has no relevance to what's happening in Ohio. Even if you look at Romney having a national lead, Obama is still far ahead in electoral votes.

the numbers that got Obama elected are up on the sign at your local gas station. they got him elected, they'll toss him out on his big ears too.

The hype for Obama is long gone. That went extinct around 2010. He's lost the independents and the youths are going to stay in the dorms playing COD.

the buck stops with the chief executive. last round was "who is the most not_Bush"...this time it's "who's the most not_Obama?" Obama doesn't have a chance on that one. the people that still have jobs are having a harder and harder time paying for gas to get to work.

for the rational among us, we know it's not oil driving this spike, it's government mandated ethanol use...another strike against 0.

But that is just it. The polls of voters are what determine electoral vote allocations. Obama is onle "far ahead in electoral votes" if you want to give wieght to one group of polls, and not to another.

OBTW, Jimmy Carter was "way ahead in electoral votes" based on what were equally foolhardy polls exactly 32 years ago to the day.

it was $4 for a week in the summer then and it got him elected. it's been hovering near $4 for months, and just spiked to $5 in CA.

what goes around, comes around. Obama blamed Bush before he even started running, now he owns it.

you can't manage with a slide rule. people act on how they perceive reality, not on what is actually going on.

Frankly, I doubt it would have helped. High prices will always hurt though. They will negatively impact Obama now. Just a question of how much ?
