The LDS beleive you will not reach the celestial kingdom if you don't tithe 10% so even though it isn't mandatory if you don't you go to a lower level of heaven. The money they do give to the church goes almost exclusively to only other Mormons. They also do not send none Mormons to rehab on their dime. My whole family is Mormon and my Mom tithed her +10% her whole life and when she died and I needed help and asked for it they did not help me. If I wasn't doing something for them then they were not willing to help a 22 year old kid who was on his only who lost their last remaining family member. I'm not saying Mormons are bad but this idea that they help people who are not Motmon rarely happens. It is the very small exeption and not the rule.
It is statements like this which leaves you with zero credibility. Both Romney and Obama give because they can and because they want too.
That's the essence of this election. The dems believe that we are all in this together, and the cons believe that you're on your own. It comes down to: How can we help? vs Eat (*)(*)(*)(*) and die.
