With defeating President Obama off the table, and all House seats up for grabs in 2014, the pressure is now on Republicans to ditch obstructionism and compromise, or obstruct at their own political peril. The tables have turned.

If the US goes off the fiscal cliff who cares who the American people blame? Typical that instead of working toward a solution the libs are already worried about who to blame.

    Nope.

It's Obamas presidency. The blame falls entirely on his and the democrats shoulders whether you like it or not.

Thus is the price you pay for being elected.

As I said before the election, the economy is going to s*it out again and that in a way I hoped Obama would get re-elected so that when the economy does take a giant dump on everything it falls solely on his and the democrats shoulder.

You guys will take the full blame for it. Suck it up.

We're not worried about who to blame. The Repubs are to blame. That's a fact. The question is will the voters care enough to kick them to the curb?

Maybe Obama and the Dems should use some hellfire missiles on the Repubs. This is war and they're the domestic enemy.

The only thing that gets Republicans off their butt to compromise is the prospect of being held accountable politically. They haven't had that pressure in a while. Obstructionism is no longer a winning strategy. That's a good thing.

only if republicans let Obama do what he wants to do to stop us from going over the cliff, if they obstruct him from doing what needs to be done, then it is all on republicans

Doesn't matter because the Democrats have the presidency. Anything that goes bad falls on whatever sitting president and the party he/she represents.

I think they should blame it on a Youtube video. People seem to buy that baloney fairly easy.

Thinking you can deal with the spending ceiling, which is just the real world results of massive Federal deficits and debt, with zero tax increases is how the Republicans are obstructing Obama. Any sane person can see that you need big spending cuts and small tax increases, and what the Republicans and Democrats need to do is to hammer out a compromise on the details that they are equally unhappy about.

The last time we had such a situation, the Republicans basically said these are our non-negotiable demands and they refused to hammer. That's where the obstruction came into play. Playing chicken with default is not a good idea.

Anything and everything proposed by someone with a D next to their name.

They have been playing pure obstructionist politics, all while not presenting anything relative of their own.

Libs have Obama and the welfare state to take care of them.

So the economic collapses of the US does not matter.

All they care about are the political consequences.

And what is Obama willing to concede? Two can play obstruction games which is what both sides have been doing.

If you are stupid enough to think Obama has answers to the Cliff or frankly gives a (*)(*)(*)(*) about it then we all deserve what is coming.

    I never said it wasn't.

However, last time I checked, it was republican obstructionism that played chicken with the economy over the debt ceiling. A manufactured controversy that further injured an ailing economy.

So you admit there is an issue with both parties but you want to ignore that and focus on one party.. Here is a clue to you. The leaders in both parties dont give a (*)(*)(*)(*) about anyone outside getting people to vote for them. That is it. (*)(*)(*)(*) the country but get re-elected.

Borrowing more money and collecting more in taxes to maintain government largess.
