I was there during Bush, and I don't recall saturation coverage of Code Pink -- or much coverage of them at all, for that matter. Heck, the general reputation of Code Pink wasn't particularly positive either, IMO. So I'm not sure what your point is.

Does the media often focus on the inconsequential? Yes. Does that mean we have to do so on this board? No.

Does that make it consequential? No.

Before the Internet, it took serious numbers to gain national attention. Now you just need two doofuses and a video camera.

In some ways, that's good. In a lot of substantive ways, it's not. The signal-to-noise ratio these days is terrible.

It's certain that the president can't just take people's citizenship away though Obama has never let little technicalities, like the law, stop him before.
If he decides he doesn't want to uphold the law, like the Defense of Marriage Act, he doesn't (though he is legally bound to).
If he decides he doesn't want to obey the Welfare Reform Act from the Clinton era, he doesn't.
He let's individual states decide for themselves what constitutes "work", which completely ignores the whole point of the law (to codify specifically mentioned requirements into law that require welfare recipients to achieve in order to collect welfare).

the right wing view of things, because this petition has absolutely NO force of law behind it, whereas Obama is actually putting his traitorous policies into effect (they would tell you). So try to think about that.

Advocating the destruction of the US is sedition, not treason. There's no penalty for sedition. It's been tried twice before and struck down.

Treason on the other hand requires an overt act of commission. We are talking on a message board for chrissakes. That's not an overt act. It's free speech of the political variety. Btw, screw the US for abandoning its troops is Afghanistan.
