You are in no position to quantify who has room to talk and who doesn't. You leap to his defense because you're a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing communist too. I get that. But I think that everyone who hates this country and hates its freedom should be given a plane ticket out. Starting with foreign invaders. Once they're all gone, we'll have a ticket waiting for you too so you can enjoy a communist country of your choice instead of trying to make America into one.

It's getting boring having to wade through so many right-wing brain farts on the forum these days.
First it's the idiots clamoring about secession. Now, we got some morons trying to deny citizens the right to vote because they don't like who they voted for.
The stupidity coming from the right since November is incredible.

Get a clue, kids. You are not going to secede, you are not going to deny any citizen their right to vote.
If you don't like how the election turned out, get over it or leave the country.
Nobody will miss the retarded prattle of a bunch of immature *******s.

Well soldiers/military/police/government workers don't pay tax returns if i'm correct, right? does that mean they dont earn a vote? I agree with you that people who are costing america shouldnt be able to vote but government workers dont fall into that category

You are so full of it, your eyes are brown. This is like saying states can pass a law that would deny your vote if you're black, or female, or homosexual. Cons really need to grow a brain.

While we're at it, let's make one's right to vote contingent on the results of a current events test - those who lack understanding of a given number of current issues lose their right to vote. Say, anyone who thinks that we found WMDs in Iraq is disqualified; anyone who thinks Obama was born in Kenya is marked as nuts and denied their right to vote.
Or how about a law to ensure that only those with an understanding of science be given the right to vote? Denying evolution would, of course, be an instant out; we can't have those who deny open and clear reality be given power in our system.
Or how about a qualification to voting which requires one to have a post-doctorate degree? After all, if only the best among us vote, we're sure to come up with the best government...
Or how about we stop acting like voting is some unimportant right that a democracy should easily waive to those who are in a bad situation, however temporarily? How about you stop being so incredibly unpatriotic, and stop spitting on the ideals our country has fought hard for?

Please stop telling lies. Many states deny the vote to felons - you know, monsters like pete rose and martha stewart. Nothing unethical about denying the vote to welfare bums.

So according to you those that paid into the system for their entire lives and are now retired should not be able to vote, how very American of you.

Yes, it is very American of me to insist that those who pay into the system are the only ones who get to vote on it. However much somebody paid in taxes in previous decades, they also had the chance to vote on the government of those times too. When they stop paying taxes, they shouldn't be voting on the government they're not contributing too. But the real injustices is the tax system that leaves 47% of people with no tax liability. Democrats love to talk about "skin in the game" when demanding that those who do pay taxes pay even more, but not when it comes to those who pay nothing at all. I think every living human being should pay taxes, even if it's just a little in some cases. There should be no exceptions whatsoever. Do that, and you won't have to worry about anyone missing out on voting.

No it is Not American of you, you simply believe that to be true. So let's play your game, I say no one gets to vote that has not served this Nation in the armed services, since as you say no one has really ever put any skin in the game, real skin, not money. Why is it I know that would leave a whole lot of self proclaimed "Patriots" here standing on the sidelines, would that include you?

The truth is you will never get your wish, since after all it goes against everything the founders stood for and set up.

You have no idea what the founders stood for, having nothing more than a poor government education. When the Constitution was ratified, women didn't have a vote. In some states, only landowners were allowed to vote and negros were denied the vote altogether except in cases where they owned land. So you thinking you can define "American" taylored to your exclusive, Leftist, communist viewpoint is laughable at best.

You know I can make the same claim about you and just as feckless. I served in the United States Army 2002 to 2005. A lot of guys my age joined up immediately after seeing planes fly into skyscrapers. But here's the difference between you and me. If you tell me that you served as well, I'm not going to call you a liar. My respect for those who served with me is such that I wouldn't want to risk telling a real veteran that he's lying about his service. The only time I broke this rule is with somebody who said he served, but then proceeded to bash me because I wasn't deployed to a combat zone. (as if it were my choice, right?) I told him he wasn't a real veteran, but a fraud, because no real military service member ever tried to make me feel bad because I didn't see combat. Have I made myself clear? Have I put myself out on the line enough for you now?

Red states are more likely to pass such law. Ironically it would also hurt them more.

They have the *right* to do that, but I don't understand why they would. Their electoral votes are based on #of voters. Disqualifying people (at least in theory) would lower the electoral value of a state.

maybe people disqualified from voting on this basis could count as 3/5 of a person for electoral purposes.
