A visit to what once was the safest town in America ... this is what America expects of it's President ... it's Commander-in-Chief & Leader of the World ... it's humanitarian and father.

President Obama will go to Newtown, Conn., Sunday to meet with victims' families

    http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/201...et-with-school-shooting-victims-families?lite

President Barack Obama will travel to Newtown, Conn., on Sunday to meet with families of the victims in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting and to thank first responders, the White House announced on Saturday night.

The president will also speak at an interfaith vigil for families of the victims as well as other families from Sandy Hook Elementary.

On Friday, an emotional Obama paused to wipe away a tear as he spoke from the White House hours after the massacre.

"The majority of those who died today were children -- beautiful little kids between the ages of 5 and 10 years old," he said.
"They had their entire lives ahead of them -- birthdays, graduations, weddings, kids of their own."

He added: "Our hearts are broken today, for the parents, grandparents, sisters and brothers of these little children, as well as the families of the adults who were lost."

Of course that's what he should do. Any president would. And I do believe he's sincerely torn up by this....as all of America is. But I hope to hell he doesn't politicize this. IF he comes out of that meeting and the next day we read where he claims that a parent asked him to ban guns in the U.S. .....then we'll know what his real motive was.

The reports are already coming in that the President will take gun control action because of this.. it will be politicized good or bad.

A friend of mine was in Newtown today and took pictures of the presidents preliminary enterage of helicopters coming in to get things set up for his arrival tomorrow.
West burough baptist is coming in to picket the funerals as well, my wife is thinking of rallying some christian forces to go there and confront them.

There was absoutly no reason for that.

After the CO. massacre the far right claimed Obama and the democrats were "gunna take yuurrrr gunnnnnnnzZ!" It never happened.

After the loon killed the door to door steak salesman in cold blood the far right claimed Obama and the democrats were "gunna take yuurrrr gunnnnnnnzZ!" It never happened.

After the massacre at the Sikh temple in Wisconsin the far right claimed Obama and the democrats were "gunna take yuurrrr gunnnnnnnzZ!" It never happened.

After the shooting in Oregon the far right claimed Obama and the democrats were "gunna take yuurrrr gunnnnnnnzZ!" It never happened.

Though a fun fact, your beloved GOP presidential candidate Willard Romney DID "take yuurrrr gunnnnnnnnnz!"

Westboro "Church"? WTF?? What can they POSSIBLY find to protest in this situation?

ETA -- But if I weren't 3000 miles away, I'd be there. Never fear. There will be an overwhelming counter-presence if they dare show up.

Wish I lived closer too. I'd mow them sorry mother(*)(*)(*)(*)ers down with my jeep. Then claim that "God" told me to do it.

Those depraved maggots are just lickin' their chops to show up at the funerals of those little kids....

Remember several yrs ago the madman who broke into the Amish schoolhouse and gunned down those 5-6 girls ages 6 to around 13? Those POS's showed up at their funerals w/their filthy signs, one saying 'your daughter was a slut'....

I'll never forget that. I turned on the news and I'm looking at them at the little girl's funeral and that sign. They're not human..... I call them cockroaches, maggots, but that doesn't seem harsh enuf to describe them.....

I know. Slime? Scum? Nasty? Cruel? Hateful? Vile? There doesn't seem to be a word bad enough to describe them.

Social media to the rescue once again. 5000 members already for the facebook group "Counter Action Against WBC Pcketing NEWTOWN shooting victims". https://www.facebook.com/groups/208248072645037/

Also, it appears that WBC is blaming the shooting on gay marriage. They also, inexplicably, blame Carrie Underwood, who's a devout Christian.

Well, 'evil incarnate' does describe them very accurately, right down to the core.

And I still think someday the vigilantes will surface and everyone in the WBC will be dead and there'll be a big celebration.

Agree that "evil" comes the closest.

I have mixed feelings about the vigilante response. On the one hand, I think there would be a huge celebration and it would do all of us a service. On the other, I wouldn't want it to happen at any of these funerals, where it would only add to the distress of these grieving families.

There are a couple of petitions going around, one to revoke WBC's tax-exempt status, which would hit them where it hurts. The other petition is to get WBC legally recognized as a hate group, which would make their vile activities subject to arrest.

Or finally just merely rationally DISCUSSED without the hyperbole of "taking my guns away"

CARRIE UNDERWOOD? They blame her for WHAT? I hope she knows she's being blamed for something by something that evil, so she can take precautions.....

If I lived in America with the WBC I would be attending those funerals with enough people to simply surround each member of WBC in a small personal crowd - not do anything to them but stare at them and stop them moving.

Just how long does it take 'the powers that be' to realize that the WBC is nothing but a hate group? I sure hope those petitions work.......

If the vigilantism happens, it probably won't for quite a while yet....BUT if it does, I won't be surprised at all. After awhile of this type of thing, the law's hands are pretty much tied and people take matters in their own hands to rid themselves of someone who's bringing so much misery to them....

There was that case of that psychopath in that small town in Missouri quite a few yrs ago. He was raping women, stealing livestock, harassing people continually, burned someone's home down, shot an old man.... even the cops were scared of him. One day 5-6 local men picked up their rifles and waited for him to show up at the bar he frequented and they all shot at the same time.

The FBI, US Marshalls, even "60 Minutes" went there and questioned the people who the shooters were. No one saw a thing and no one ever talked.......

In fact, they made a movie about that case - "In Broad Daylight" w/Brian Dennehy....

Sounds ok w/me, but probably wouldn't work. If they tried to move away, you'd have to let them....

We have the Patriot Guards, a motorcycle club who shows up, on request, and they do a good job in keeping them away from the funeral.....
