Have We Been Drafted Into NAFTA?

    It's one of those things it seems the people expressly do not want, but seems to be pushed through anyway.

    But I wasn't to clear on the realities of it. Has the US been drafted into a trade agreement that makes the US, Canada, and Mexico as single economic bloc like the European Union?

    If so, does this effectively void the Constitution or the original civil and government charters as a consequence?

    I think you're overreacting here. NAFTA is a good deal less powerful then whatever treaty forms the basis of the EU. For instance, there is no Amo (like a Euro). Nor can I imagine anyone supporting it. It appears the Euro is under odd pressures because the countries in the EU are very different economically. They are far more similar then, say, Mexico and the U.S. Also, agreeing the NAFTA by no means causing us to be unable to govern ourselves. Congress is allowed to make trade deals with other countries IN THE CONSTITUTION.
