How about if a council were called before Mullahs to debate/talk about how well a government were to rule if not by God.

I could go on and on, but ultimatly what they get boilded down to is a people *forced* to be servents of God, versus some who choose, by virtue of free will, to do it that way.

Unless the Mullahs want to say their people are so stupid they need to be controlled in a rod-of-iron way... which I happen to know Persians are not insolong as the economy is going well, else they will go nuts just as much as Americans if made too poor.

What you think is evil is probably not so. I'm sure to you I'm evil incarnate.

If one knows our Republic's roots, our history, then one can only say we are a nation of God, a religious nation.

Although added much later, just look at the Pledge of Allegiance or the oaths taken as a public servant or when speaking before the Courts. Also look at the following quotes:

"...that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights..."
    - Declaration of Independence

"Suppose a nation in some distant region should take the Bible for their only Law Book, and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited... What a paradise would this region be!"
    - John Adams

"If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible, our country will go on prospering and to prosper; but if we and our posterity neglect its instructions and authority, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity."
    - Daniel Webster

"We have been assured, Sir, in the Sacred Writings, that 'except the Lord build the House, they labor in vain that build it.' I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without His concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel."
    - Ben Franklin

"It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge to Providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and to humbly implore His protection and favor."
    - George Washington

"... it would be peculiarly improper to omit, in this first official act, my fervent supplications to that Almighty Being who rules over the universe, who presides in the councils of nations and whose providential aids can supply every human defect."
    - George Washington

"The Congress of the United States recommends and approves the Holy Bible for use in all schools."
    - 1782 Congress

"God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the Gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever; That a revolution of the wheel of fortune, a change of situation, is among possible events; that it may become probable by Supernatural influence! The Almighty has no attribute which can take side with us in that event."
    - Thomas Jefferson

"The Eye over it and the motto Annuit Coeptis allude to the many signal interpositions of providence in favor of the American cause. "
    - Charles Thomson, Designer of the Great Seal of the USA

Annuit Coeptis: He (God) approves this undertaking

Providence: The protective care of God or of nature as a spiritual power

"As nations cannot be rewarded or punished in the next world, so they must be in this. By an inevitable chain of causes and effects, Providence punishes national sins, by national calamities"
    - George Mason

"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports... Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles."
    - George Washington

the few citations here that are actually referencing legal documents, umm actually none of these are referencing legal documents. the closest one might be the bit about schools, however, that was quite likely simply because it was such a big book and could be easily found do to obscene over printing.

the declaration of independence is not a legal document. that's actualy something i learned from the right wing while they were pointing out that there's actualy no such thing as a government secured "right to vote" while they were disinfranchising florida voters

So you're disregarding the Declaration of Independence? The Great Seal? Our Founding Fathers?

The liberal hatred of this country is astounding.

the declaration of independence is not a legal document, and i included that it was the right wing that pointed out that fact. the great seal? not a legal document. last time checked there were a few other people involved in america's foundation, a cherry picking of quotes does neither confirm nor unconfirm whether or not they like chi tea let alone what you're claiming.

my only hatred belongs to you, not this country. you are not my countryman. you're a citizen of some lala land of your own imagination.

There were many more quotes, many more, but I chose to post those few. I could have kept going. To deny that we're a religious nation is to deny our history. I'm very aware of our country's origins; I'm a fan of history.

I don't know what country you live in, but I'm proud to be an American and proud of our history and heritage, and have fought for the People, the Constitution, and our History. I don't deny our history in an attempt to rewrite it.

You're nothing, but a liberal stooge. Nothing, but a mouthpiece repeating the same degrading message.

some throughout history have tried to bring religion into the courts, no one doubts that

    http://law2.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/conlaw/loving.html

"Almighty God created the races white, black, yellow, malay and red, and he placed them on separate continents. And, but for the interference with his arrangement, there would be no cause for such marriage. The fact that he separated the races shows that he did not intend for the races to mix."
    -Judge Leon M. Bazile (January 6, 1959)

....but we are no more a Christians nation because the majority is Christian then we are a White nation because the majority is White

I would like to see the moderators send this post down to the religion sub forum where it belongs. There are plenty of American/GOD hating atheists and Satanists down there to address your nonsense.

This does not directly involve religious belief. It is about whether religion plays a part in government or not, which is a political question, not a religious one.

Your words imply we are of God. Our deeds as a nation confirm we are not, especially in the fat cat corporate stink pile.
