Webster Griffin Tarpley - Bloodbath awaits Syria if militants gain control

A US-based historian has warned that Syria would become the scene of an “colossal bloodbath” should militants gain control of the crisis-hit country.


“If the Free Syrian Army, if this [Syria’s militia group Jabhat] al-Nusra gang of death squads in particular should ever gain power over Syria or large parts of Syria, we would witness a colossal bloodbath that would certainly be the biggest in the current century,” Webster Griffin Tarpley told Press TV on Sunday.

Tarpley said militants are trying to install “an independent, terrorist emirate” similar to Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

“It would be a genocide machine unleashed in the Eastern Mediterranean,” he warned.


Tarpley also drew a parallel between the ongoing Syrian unrest and the 1990s’ Lake District of Africa genocide, saying, “And it would rival what we saw in the Lake District of Africa back in the 1990s that would be a genocide of Shiites, of Alawites, of Christians, Melkites, Maronites...Orthodox and others, also people who are politically not acceptable to these killers and also foreign citizens, tens of thousands of people from other countries who would also be candidates for execution.”

The American author said militants “are becoming more and more impudent and arrogant and insolent” toward Russia and the US for the latter’s insufficient support for them.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011. Damascus says outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorists are the driving factor behind the unrest and deadly violence.

The Syrian government also says that the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of armed militants fighting the Syrian government are foreign nationals.

It ain't a true civil war, just as Libya wasn't. People who say otherwise are lying because doing so fits their narrative, or they are ignorant.

No matter how anyone wants to paint Assad, the point (and this is key), is that these so called 'rebels' are a 'database' of mercenary killers, being orchestrated and influenced externally.

Imagine Mexicans drug gangs being backed by China, in order to cause unrest, large scale death, and ultimately topple the US Gov, so that they could replace them with a totally China friendly puppet.

For those with a memory of more that a week, the Zionist mafia have had Syria on their radar for years. It is just a matter of working around all their targets, which, as you can see, they are doing. Same BS sort of narrative they feed us, every single time. They either use direct war, like with Iraq, or the cheaper option, put agitators on the ground, and back them. Then use their own corporate media to call them 'rebels', and simpletons will lap it all up.

 

It has all been orchestrated by Erdogan and Devotoglu because of their desire to restore the Ottoman empire. All the arms for the rebels are coming from Turkey, and all the meetings and plans have been going on in Turkey. The minute the opportunity arose, Erdogan dropped his friend Assad like a hot potato, and began condemning him for his inhumanity. Turkey immediately united with Qatar and Saudi Arabia and hoped Nato would attack so they could march in with them and grab a chunk...but they were foiled by Russia. The Syrian Kurds fearful that Turkey might take over lands in Syria where they were the majority, decided to join the fight and grab the land for themselves.

After meeting with Putin, Assad warned Erdogan that he will pay for what he was doing to Syria. The result was the Kurdish takeover of the part of Syria that borders Turkey. The Christians are being armed and have joined the Kurds. Anyway now that Erdogan has succeeded in totally destroying Syria, he has turned his attention again to the Balkans and the Aegean. The latest Stratfor Report, which is the international intelligence behind the CIA, says an invasion in the Aegean is imminent, and that Greece must be prepared to defend itself.

 

Erdogan strikes me as a vain fool.

 

Best solution is to nuke Riyadh and Mecca.

The source is completely unreliable, the "expert" is hardly a true expert and the analysis is very poor. Having said all that, the issue of what kind of Syria will emerge in the aftermath of a rebel victory is a troubling one. Historically, extremists have a good chance of seizing power in a turbulent and chaotic transition of power which they sometimes hang onto and which they sometimes lose to a competent dictator of some sort. The odds of democratic and moderate elements surviving ethnic pressues, extremist provocations and Free Syrian army elements feeling the new regime owes them something will not be in their favor.

Syrian Troops Arrest 4 Turkish Pilots in Aleppo: Report

Syrian troops arrested four Turkish fighter pilots trying to attack the northern Aleppo province’s airport.

The Syrian daily, al-Watan, reported on Monday the guarding troops of the Koerc military airport arrested four Turkish officers who were trying to sneak into the airport with an armed group.

The daily did not give further details about the fate of the Turkish pilots, saying the event came to explicitly implicate Turkey in Syria crisis.

As I have said, I speak just for me, not for anyone or anything, per se.

As far as Ivan goes, I don't think there is any need for your rudeness to him, I cannot recall him being so to you.

There is just no need to be that way, esp when someone has done you no harm, and is merely putting information up, which others can read, and at least pay the respect of looking for themselves, before commenting, or being so dismissive.

As they should do with ALL information, actually, often, rather than ask for a link, what the person should do, if they are honestly interested, is make the effort to look for themselves, perhaps having had something brought to their attention, whatever it may be. It may only take one hour, it may take much more, but the point is that it would be their effort, and that way, they are more likely to be receptive to what they read by their own efforts, nor would they moan that they did not like a given source, because they would be looking...for themselves.

That is not to say (before you say), that I agree with all that Ivan puts up, indeed, sometimes he is a little cryptic to understand, tends to avoid back and forward chit chat, and inclines to occasional comment, and a little clue, which one is free to look up.
