You're telling me the US would be in the middle east if they were all democracies? (and if the people weren't crazy enough to elect islamists)

True, a sane population is a requisite too i guess.

Would you at least concede that it would be easier for a gay man to live outside of prison in Iran if he agreed to have a sex change?

The point is that homosexuality is punishable by imprisonment or worse, whereas gender reassignment is legal. It's part of why it happens so much there.

Well, we subverted a democratically elected leader in Iran just for the sake of oil interests.

We've done similar things to democratic governments in Central and South America as well.

Oh.. I didn't know about iran, which leader? I knew about latin america though.. But somehow, I feel that it has changed. Come to think of it, why would it have? I feel as if I've been a tad naive.. one step closer I guess.

Mossadegh was a guy that both the US and the UK wanted out of power because he nationalized oil interests.

Jesus.. Good going, anglos. A democratic Iran with a constitutional monarchy? My god, that would have been undescribably neat. and now we have a soon to be nuclear iranian theocracy. This.. really lowered my opinion of the UK and US quite a bit.

it was not the people who kept claiming that an airplane can not be invented, that invented the air plane. but it has been invented. and so despite your pesimism, I will keep trying.

You have to invent a whole new kind of human for it to work, or leave it to robots or something. But now humans, they will corrupt it.
