Gun Appreciation Day Huffington Post | 01/19/2013 "Bloody Saturday...At least 5 Hurt in 3 Inadvertent Gun Show Shootings...Dealer Shoots Man in Ohio...Shotgun Goes Off During Security Check in N.C...Man Shoots Self While Leaving Gun Show in Indiana..." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ .... IMO: I hope the Gun Appreciation Day was all you wanted it to be, and it was probably very financially rewarding for the sellers, but it appears from the violence surrounding the various shows, that gun owners are not very safe themselves around guns, so what can we really expect from you guys if you get startled by someone or something? Besides, I thought you wanted to own guns to hunt with...and what does an assault weapon that shoots 30 bullets in minutes have to do with hunting a deer? OMG: you could shoot up the whole forest, including other hunters in minutes! Maybe you can explain it better to a psychiatrist because from the actions of gun buyers carrying concealed weapons, sprinting away in panic and running, causing mayhem because a gun went off accidentally, that just does not actively denote a militia mentality to me. What is going to happen when your guns all have to be registered, you have to have your name, address, any misdemeanors and/or police records against you, how many fights you were ever in, how many times you threatend to beat your wife,...all put into a huge data base that can be scrutinized by many people nationwide? ...and if in the event the police come to visit you to take your guns away from you, will you run in panic, or just bluster and blow smoke at the police?
These gun nuts are the last line of defense from a tyrannical government? They can't even overcome the tyranny of tooth decay.
I have to kill a lot of rattlesnakes on my property. Would you really want to stand there and try and take out a nest of them with a 6-shooter? Hope you like snakebites.
The purpose and reason I own guns is none of your business and I don't need your consent to own the type of firearms I want to. When I buy a gun, I don't take your opinion or feelings into consideration and I never will. - - - Updated - - - What a bigoted post.
How about a long piece of wood? - - - Updated - - - How about a long piece of wood? - - - Updated - - - You must be new here. The bigotry award was handed out a while ago, it was won by the reactionaries.
They will wet their pants, then hand over their guns then run claiming to have 'stood up to the man'. - - - Updated - - - How is that relevant?
I think the OP is a closeted gun owner, and these threads are the only way she can deal with her personal frustrations.
Yes lets start jabbing a nest of em with a stick. That sure won't anger them. Wow you city folk just amaze me. I kill over 50 a year just on my property or between the two and that's only when I'm going back and forth. I could kill hundreds if I was out looking for them. My neighbor had 6 of em under is house this past summer I had to eradicate because he's too old. We have no animal control where I live. I'm gonna send you a ticket so you can come out to my ranch and give you a long piece of wood and see how you do.
I''ll pay my own way, but it's a kind offer. I could show you how to dispatch a snake with a piece of wood, save you a heap of money on ammo! Oh and I don't go looking for snake nests here, they usually come looking for shade or water during our summer. Happily I am now living in the city and I can call the snake handlers but out in the bush I know the cockies get the shotgun out and off they go. Farmers here have a much broader approval for firearms then us urban types, it's based on necessity and I have no problem with that.
I could get rid of a snake with a butterknife if I had to but the point is that its far more efficient and safer to do it with a gun that puts out a lot of ammo that I can fire from a distance or my horse.
Because your article is asinine. There are THOUSANDS of people now buying guns out of FEAR generated by the SICKENING EXPLOITATION of the DEAD CHILDREN of SANDY HOOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, and the glaringly TRANSPARENT LEFTNINNY GUN GRAB they are being exploited for. A couple of accidental discharges, no one seriously inujured. AS far as Gun Control Central, Chicago: 94 people shot, 27 fatally, in JANUARY ALONE, (so far). http://www.jouster.com/forums/showthread.php?35671-Jan.18-2013 Yeah, strict gun control laws really work....to protect criminals from the law-abiding, that is....
But guys! We MUST do something about guns, they're a National Security hazard! Just listen to Jesse Jackson tell us how assault weapons can shoot down airplanes!
You don't much fire power to kill snakes. Only whimps need fire power to kill snakes. Trust me, I grew up around snakes.
The best thing about yesterday was seeing the 2000 gun owners in front of the state capital of Olympia Washington and only 2 anti-gun protesters. When 150 anti-gun left wing nuts marched in Seattle last week they needed 60 uniformed officers to "protect" them and protect store owners from the anarchist bastards that usually march with lefty loons. The gun appreciation crowd only had 4 state police officers to guard them and they took turns having their pictures taken in the state capital building infront of the governor's office door with their weapons in hand!
