They want to sue "Hollywood". Yeah, good luck with that!

PressTV said that Ben Affleck should be hauled off and charged with war crimes and treason over this movie. I can't wait to see the lawsuit Iran files over this. It ought to be pure comedy gold!

I hope nobody tells Ahmadinejad about the time in Batman when the Ayatollah Khomeini offered the Joker a job as the Ambassador for Iran!

 

Instead of suing they should instead support p2p networks to share/pirate Hollywood movies, the only place those guys feel pain is in their pocket.

I wouldn't say the film was "anti-Iran." At the beginning, it gives the historical context for why Iranians were angry. We had supported the Shah for years, and the Revolution was a response to that.

If anything, it was a very balanced film. It showed the oppression of both the Shah and the Islamists.

 

The Iranians violated the sanctity of an embassy and took its staff hostage, along with several other Americans that happened to be in Tehran at the time. Just how do you make that look "good"?

 

My feelings exactly. Well made film, provided lots of historic context, and was a riviting film to watch.

Why some viewers still watching Hollywood films. I hate them anyway. Is crap, cheap, explosions, murders, discussing films. Good advice please stay away from Hollywood smashing faces films.

 

Blacks and Jews were at the wrong end of propaganda for hundreds of years. After the blatant racist propaganda that persisted at least until the end of World War 2, I can see why perhaps there is resistance to using Jewish or black caracatures.

In any event, these Iranian rocket scientists have as much of a chance of winning this lawsuit as Kim Kardashian joining MENSA. They want to sue Hollywood? It'll get tossed out. In fact, even those geniuses must know that on some level. It'd probably be much easier for PressTV to photoshop some other movie winning the Oscar and have the sheeple in Iran accept that as news. I'm a bit surprised they haven't already done that.

During the cold war thing were simple. The Hollywood bad guys were the Russians, or at least Eastern Europeans. Then glasnost came, and the Russians were friends, and things got complicated. The bad guys became British as a stop-gap, until happily for Hollywood, Arab/Muslim/terrorists became the generic bad guys du jour. (with the occasional Frenchman) The rewriting of history in America's flattery is a constant. (Excepting maybe Tora! Tora! Tora!)
