I personally think that the walls are un-necessary.
BUT - BIG BUT :Palestinian which commits terrorist act will get the most severe punishment.
Car theft - a lengthy prison term.
Throwing stones - as assassination attempt - a lengthy prison term.
This is due to lack of warning from the palestinian police ( they even sometimes cooperate with the terrorists ).
I understand that the current walls saved many Israeli lives, but i think that acting a fist against those criminals can
sometimes get the same result.
Israelis should not close themselves with walls while the coffee shops in Ramallah are full !!

Why would and should they? When one is at war or, conducting law enforcement operations you must have more power than those you are attacking or protecing against. Please, if you are going to make this silly point at least provide a precidence where a nation deliberately sheds superior force to ensures they are at equal odds with the poorly armed forces attacking them.
