Many immigrants cling to their old languages. Russians are notorious for this.

All it does is delay assimilation, and leaves the foreign language speakers in a ghetto of their own making.

What does insecurity have to do with anything, how can ebonics be considered a language, and why must English be considered 'fancy lad English'?

In reality, this, like Affirmative Action and the "disenfranchisement" photo ID would present to their helpless, hapless
    useful idiot voters
is yet another blatant example of the arrogant, condescending progressive left's racism of "diminished expectations".

All while the vile, projecting scumbags point fingers and yell "racist" at anyone who would dare illuminate this inarguable fact.

But it's "you didn't build that", "privileged" whitey who gets vilified as "racist" for not hiring the coddled, "it's not my fault" ebonics crowd at the same rate as people who can effectively communicate with their customers.

(enter; "Affirmative Action", and the myriad of "anti-discrimination" laws.....or, in other words... coerced dumbing down of society to the lowest common denominator, in the name of "the common good", "fairness". "equality", and "social justice")

Why is it that the redneck with his double negatives, ain't, y'all dialect should get hired but the "ebonics" crowd shouldn't?

Who says they do? Being a public school teacher, surely you're aware that about half of those living below the poverty line are whites, right? Perhaps this demographic consists largely of your double negative, ain't, and y'all speaking "rednecks"

Granted, they don't teach redneck. Nevertheless, society has to put up with them and their butchering of the English language. So if that's acceptable (which it apparently is), then Ebonics is no different. While I will agree it shouldn't be taught (there's a reason math, English, are taught, and English is how to properly use the English language...including correct pronunciation). Far as I'm concerned, if you can't correctly pronounce the language, it's no different than using Ebonics. I don't know what the F rednecks are talkin' about half the time. Point is....people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

I'm not aware of any public school district in Texas trying to make "Southern slang" a separate language so that kids won't be penalized for not learning proper English. Or using taxpayer funds to help school staff learn to 'talk like a redneck, y'all'.
