Good luck trying to enforce the provisions of the treaty, especially if nation-states are involved as suppliers. I won't be waiting with bated breath for the first successful prosecution.

I dont think prosecutions are going to be a big element. That would be like the drug trade, nab someone, a week later another player enters the game. The main advantage this will have is to try and stop the flow of the weapons. A lot of countries already exceed the standards set by the treaty. The more that can come up to speed, progressively the harder the trade becomes.

The UN treaty really does not ban the sale of weapons to non-state actors and merely makes it controllable by the US (as the main "human rights defender" :unclesam:). It would be worth celebrating only when CIA can't do secret arms supplies.

Although, investigation process constitute a difficulty too...
Probably, this document will become nothing, as UN destination to protect the peace or an absence of sanctions which doesn't make difference to Washington.
It will be endless talks and mutual accusations....

As no one will pay any attention to it and the USA will not ratify it, I put the effort down as propaganda and silliness..sort of like the UN in general.

But King Obama, Fascist and Traitor, will try to implement it whether it's ratified or not. He especially likes the "end-user" registration feature, and the fact that it can be used to ban gun imports into the United States, and other clearly unconstitutional aspects.

Passage of this treaty is a solid reason why Americans need to move the UN to Saudi Arabia and stop paying membership dues. We're not a fascist state that's afraid of it's citizen. King Obama is a fascist afraid of us.

This treaty will never be ratified by the US Senate.

Your ignorance on fascism is symptomatic of being a fascist.
