Rush Limbaugh - Rush Limbaugh's SAT score is listed at 1530 and translates into an IQ score of 137 which is probably accurate. Limbaugh graduated from Cape Girardeau, Missouri Central High School in 1969. Because of his parents' desire to see him attend college, he enrolled in Southeast Missouri State University but left the school after two semesters. According to his mother, "he flunked everything", and "he just didn't seem interested in anything except radio."

 

Quite a remarkable bit of fact for a man the left pegs as being a drug addict, a misogynist, a homophobe, a racist etc. But we Conservatives already knew how brilliant Rush is and has been since he first came on the airwaves. There is no one that exposes the lefty propaganda better than Rush, and for that one major characteristic--we all have to give Rush his due for his uncanny ability to dissect the enemy's every anti American move. The word 'genius' comes to mind when describing Rush, as that I.Q. test and his radio airwaves acumen clearly show.

 

Mine is probably close to or precisely at 121 though I honestly do not know how much credit to give IQ scores and the site you linked to suggests my SAT score of 1360 translates into an IQ of slightly over 140 and placement in the most intelligent 0.5% of the population. These results make me feel at least a wee bit skeptical.

Anyway, I've had the pleasure of discussing politics with liberals, conservatives, socialists, communists, anarchists, and even fascists smarter than I in the past and expect to do so again many times in the future. In the United States people with the most education seem to be more likely to favor capitalism, less likely to be bigots, and appear more likely to be culturally liberal than the average person... but intelligence itself probably is not a very good indicator of which ideology any given intelligent bloke will subscribe, and I do not know what the trends are like for highly-educated people in other parts of the world. Clearly there are people on both sides of the aisle who are not nearly so ignorant, naive, or stupid as many of their opponents believe.

Is it possible that Rush would have developed different ideas if he stayed in university? What if he majored in economics or a field like sociology - each of which appear to churn out graduates who disproportionately lean toward one political tendency or another? There are a lot of "what if" themed questions to which we may never know the answers.

 

I could be wrong, but I believe it's based on an outdated SAT scoring method which only went up to 1600. The current SATs go up to 2400.

B) if true- this means that Rush Limbaugh is smarter than most Conservatives.....

Limbaugh is a brilliant entertainer- he knows his market and has been fantastic at what he does. He is the Bill Cosby of the right wing.

 

Ya, and the third section of SAT was added shortly before I had to take it, but for the sake of the converter I subtracted my score from that new section so that I was only being judged on math and reading. I am not sure how the converter works, given that there are people it says have lower IQs than I but higher SAT scores. It would be interesting to know if it only actually works for SAT results taken from a certain range of years.

Edit: Apparently the SAT was made harder in 2005 but I don't know how it compares to versions from decades earlier.

 

it's no real surprise that Limbaugh is smart, it takes a smart person to successfully scam money out of ignorant fools who already believe his schtick and maintain the act long enough to become extremely wealthy. Of course the price he pays for abusing the ignorant in such a cynical manner speaks for itself.

 

Rush is no doubt much brighter than the listeners who actually take what he says seriously. . He's probably brighter than the majority of liberals, too, as well as conservatives and middle of the roaders.

It's doubtful he's any brighter than other political comedians like Jon Stewart of Steven Colbert.

I'd love to see a real debate, one with rules and judges that is, between Stewart and Limbaugh. What a hoot that would be.

 

Rush Limbaugh also has an incredible tolerance for pain killers. Good for him.

 

137 is barely in Mensa range. Top 2%. That's the level average people think of as smart. Nothing special really. Lucky for him corporate America needs a big wind bag with no morals to swindle the morons into voting against their own good.

 

I hate to say it but IQ alone hardly means anything, many people with significantly high IQ's are also significantly non-functional in society because they are significantly mentally ill. IQ does not dictate political philosophy as geniusess often have very diverse views on the world. Zizek's IQ is likely above 200 and he's a blatant neo-marxist.

So Rush is using his intelligence to purposely push away votes from his party by acting racist. Makes sense.

 

He's clearly intelligent enough to amass great wealth, but his character, on the other hand, is another story.

 

No, not purposely but he's dogmatic in his position and that is common to all political persuasions. The political right will decide to distance itself from him when they come to consider him doing more harm than good. As they appear to be doing with the fringe ********** movement already. All political parties need to make the same sort of decision in time.

That sounds accurate. The typical liberal definition of "stupid" is just anybody who disagrees with them. They're very emotional creatures who cannot accept a simple difference of viewpoint and need to rationalize all differences into someone "just being dumb." What's sad is that most of these liberals are not stupid people either. They're just waaaaaaaaaaay too touchy feely. And it clouds their reason.

But yeah, any objective person could obviously recognize pretty quickly that Rush has a high IQ. Even if they're not a conservative.

 

The problem with most leftists is that they feel with brains think with there are hearts and then try to justify spending massive amounts of other people's money on solutions that are, as a general rule, counter productive to their stated goal.

Please do not think for a moment that the three time loser druggie believes anything he says to his public. He says what he knows they want to hear. He doesn't care about politics or elections he cares about cash. If limbaugh could make 401 million bucks selling chamwpes in infomercials he'd drop the radio act in a heartbeat.

Yes, he's smart. He got to do drugs illegally and got out of the penalties for it. His neck is as fat as his head too. Republicans are immoral, greedy and repugnant. So, what's all this supposed to prove?
