Four long term GOP state legislators got ousted for voting for a tax increase. http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/350936/tea-party-revival-virginia-john-fund Improving America, four RINOs at a time. On a related subject, here is a victory for civil rights in America. In deep-blue Connecticut, no less. http://www.examiner.com/article/pro-gun-republican-wins-vacated-democrat-seat-connecticut quote: the first time a Republican has won the district in 40 years There were an awful lot of people, including Democrats, who are really ticked off about the gun bill -- and the budget.'' Taxcutters says: Real grass-roots progress.
I love it and the TEA Party... the more establishment Republicans that get kicked to the curb for spending and taxation the better.
I was born, raised in and lived in Connecticut until the mid 80's. It's a gun state. Colt was there, Olin Winchester is there, Sturm Ruger is there and many others in the gun industry. In So Cal I'd have to drive 50 miles to find a shooting range, in tiny Connecticut there's 27. The dorks that passed the latest firearms bill can expect to be gone in the next election cycle.
"The GOP, eating itself two idiots at a time" (the one that got kicked out and the one that got elected in it's place. They are all morons and will all be the same level of stupid)
The Tea Party is such a threat to the progressive establishment that they will stop at nothing to destroy it. We've seen what the Obama admin was willing to do.
That may be how it looks to a lib who thinks government exists to redistribute the income. But to voters who want a return to responsible government the Tea Party is the republics last hope for survival.
We are going to put an end to the notion that the American taxpayer exists to fund the federal government. The federal government exists to serve the American people. - Ronald Reagan, 1980 Nomination Acceptance Speech
Anyone watch "The 5" on Fox this week? The fight between Bowling (sp?) and Guttfield was awesome. Eric looked like a complete idiot, old GOP RINO's vs new libertarians. Look forward to seeing this play out in the future.
Followed by Ronny boy increasing spending, entitlements, dependency, government intervention in private industry, government payouts to private industry, more government watch dog groups, less freedom for individuals, runaway deficits, irresponsible fiscal policy and general destruction of American values. Why, that's all the same stuff you accuse Obama of, and I know for a fact that you'd reelect Reagan in a heartbeat if he were around toady and eligible.
Calling a government party that does not compromise, does not work on policy, blocks everything, lies about ideology with every breath, threatens government shut down (aka nation shutdown), threatens to crash the economy by blocking policy, is a generally uneducated cross section of the electorate (aka, they get all of their info from Fox news. period) etc. etc. etc, "responsible" is like calling parent who lets their kids eat marshmallows and maple syrup for every meal responsible because "the best parents let the kids decide what's best for themselves". I'm not calling many of our electorate children (though many are, especially in the Tea party and GOP, pssssst, it's the same thing), but when your "government approach" is to do absolutely nothing but prevent policy of any kind (to the point of shutting down our nation to a stand still on every little thing) then you are NOT the hope of our nation. Gosh, I sure does hope the Tea Party is in charge someday so that the next time the government goes to work on the interstates it gets stopped halfway through and we get stuck with half finished roads still under construction, no money flowing to seniors who paid into Medicare and Social Security (so that they die quickly), and generally no one but "friends of the Tea Party" getting a payday (because that will STILL happen abusively just like it does with every other party in charge. Wake up.
"The dorks that passed the latest firearms bill can expect to be gone in the next election cycle." Taxcutter says: Hope you're right but I'm not holding my breath.
"...people wonder why the GOP seems to have sold itself to the tea party." Taxcutter says: What's the alternative? Selling out to the Democrats? The Tea Party is what the GOP should be.
