100k attendee estimate for Gay Pride Parade in DC

It's a matter of historical connotation in that specific case - we all know what "white pride" means. I think most people would care if the KKK went out marching in their town. In other cases, yeah, knock yourself out; but as an "answer" to gay pride, it's incredibly dumb. Can't really argue against your position as a whole though, I just mean in terms of theory, why straight pride is just... well, dumb. Really, really dumb.

 

Well gay pride parades and white pride parades seem to have something in common: truth in advertising of just exactly what they are proud of that many people find utterly offensive....

This picture was taken in the heartland on main street with the full public in attendance...including children...

White pride may or may not be stupid. I think a lot of things are stupid so I don't do them. Also, the KKK is about as relevant to today as Radio Flyer wagons. It is a boogeyman from the past. Being afraid over a marginalized group or not wanting them to have a dumb parade is just stupid. Grow. Up. Get a gun if you're scared. Get a big vicious dog. Learn kung fu. Set up booby traps around your house. Or realize it's a bunch of dumb people who can't tie their own shoelaces with a hood on.

People need to get over having government protect us from everything and empower yourself.

I used to be more like you until I read RuPaul's books. They were life changing, actually, and not just for style and cosmetics. Here's this gay black dude from the South who said that he's been called everything in this life and he looks as taunts like lifting weights; they made him stronger and stronger. He says now he's like "Come for me (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)es....come for me".

He truly believes that without all that adversity he wouldn't be ultra fabulous and strong today.

the other one is: "If you have that big of a problem with a word you've got bigger problems than that word".

I live my life by RuPaul, Voltaire, Spooner, Locke, Jefferson, Jesus, and the Buddha. I am 100% being honest and truthful with the fact that I have put him on that list.

He deserves to be there.

Oh, the picture of the guy spread eagle in sodomy-readiness pose for his hungry onlookers is different from the beach because it's an act of "dry sex" in front of kids with signs saying "drill ass not gas" right behind him marching down the street in "pride"....in front of kids and parents gathered to see what the meaning of this "pride" is all about. You have to consider the context...

His legs are spread eagle [not what you do when you do pushups] and his pose is anal -sex receptive...THE form of sex that carries the highest rate of HIV transmission. The men behind him are staring down at his ass and one is preparing to slap it. The man in the pose has a dazed somatic look to his face in anticipation of the sex act and behind him are marchers carrying signs that say "drill ass, not gas", all in "pride" in the presence of children in the heartland in broad daylight.

People who object to this type of "pride" are not drinking Hateraide. They are concerned for the messages its sending impressionable youngsters in the sidelines. Caring for children cannot automatically be called "hatred". Nice try though.. Ultimately, no one is forcing anyone to go to gay pride. If you have to Google Image search pictures to feel angry/annoyed by it, then you're basically inflicting that on yourself.

FACT - most people who whine about gay pride have probably never even seen one in real life.

It's not a big deal. If anyone needs to get over yourselves, it's you guys. Many thousands of straight people attend Pride events every year and LOVE THEM.

Plus I don't know if you heard but HIV isn't a death sentence anymore. And the vast majority of gay men will NEVER catch it.

These parades are basically clown shows. They are perverse and disgusting. I would say the same thing if there were straight pride parades with this kind of behavior. Definitely makes being homosexual seem more like a mental disorder than anything else. Absolutely disgusting!
