Fox News military analyst, Colonel Peters, said nobody was actually harmed with the NSA
conducting surveillance on us. He said nobody was harmed and it was to
keep us safe. He went on to call Snowden a punk and high school
dropout, and said treason has been sensationalized and been made to be
cool. He said we need to bring back the death penalty for people like
    Snowden.

I’m all for the death penalty on a state level for a person who committed a heinous crime such as murder. But the death penalty on a federal level for someone who is accused of espionage or treason is quite chilling to say the least as these are so loosely defined. People, including myself when I was naïve, said Ron Paul was a traitor and loved terrorists. This was just because he said we were adding to our debt by expanding our empire when our military should only be used to protect our country. By Colonel Peters’ definition, Ron Paul should be executed. When someone believes someone should be executed for speaking out against policy or questioning government, it is reminiscent of the Stasi of East Germany, the Third Reich, and Soviet Russia, but not what the United States is supposed to be.

Colonel Peters is calling for Snowden’s execution while embracing the idea of the NSA spying. Keep in mind, Snowden hasn’t even been tried yet. This, to me, says Peters probably wouldn’t mind having Snowden taken out without even receiving a trial.

For these people the death penalty is a moral upgrade. It involves due process. These people are common-or-garden extra-judicial assassins.

Well according to Article III of the U.S. constitution:

It would be nearly impossible to actually convict Snowden of Treason, since he never worked for another government and given them U.S. secrets, all he did was let this out into the public. Attempting to use the traitor label would leave one to assume that the public is an enemy of the U.S. government.

If Republicans keep this up the voters in the USA are going to vote Democrat in the 2014 election. Not that I'm complaining.

It shows what idiotic clowns these pundits are. The fact that Fox cant seem to figure this out is a testament to the stupidity of this clown show.

Hmmmmm, the death penalty is not banned at the Federal level, I guess that means neither one of them knows what the heck they are talking about, and you guys get your info from FOX, good luck with that.

Not only death sentence for Snowden but they are wanting journalists who publish material to also receive the death sentence for instance Glen Greenwald.

    Press Freedom death sentence

FOX has many commentators and the opinions of one commentator is not the official opinion of FOX itself.

The thread should be closed because its title is a lie.

I really dont think he desreves death...but I do think he is a traitor, first he betrayed his vows, then he made the secrets known publicly including US enemies this harming the US, I thinks it fits what you posted.

Exactly. They charged him with espianage which is defined as something to the effect of giving classified information to the enemy. Since he gave it to the American public, the government must consider the American people the enemy.

I don't see how that could happen. Hard core conservatives and constitutionalists who are fed up with the Republican party usually view the Republicans as bad but the Democrats as far worse. They won't vote for Democrats. They will most likely vote independent or third party.

CNN and MSNBC seem to have liberals and Fox seems to have neocons.

Of course - and both are supporting the powers at be on their course of turning this country into a police state where the Government spy's on its own people.

Let me try to understand queerboy Peters. USA government POLICY resulted in 3000 deaths on 9-11-01, some more in March of 2013 and Snowden should get the death penalty?
