This Inquisition? They debunk much of the spin, seems they had the better law systems and more humane prisons. Pretty sure its this vid that tells how the secular prisoners would try to be switched.

Oh, here we go. Here comes the "Jesus was a socialist" nonsense.

By what other criterion does a metaphorical tree hold any value?

So essentially, it's just idealism at this point. No proof that it would actually work in reality. No proof that it would be compatible with human nature (which was the fatal flaw of marxism..... failure to factor in human nature).

I give you credit for at least attempting to present an alternative. That's more than most people here have done. But I'll leave you with yet another quote from Dr. Thomas Sowell as a caveat:

"Much of the social history of the Western world, over the past three decades, has been a history of replacing what worked with what sounded good."

No, you're the expert here. I want to hear it from you. Preach to me, Maynard Christ! Preach to me from the book of Judith. "Fux ur gawdz!!!"

You see, I don't believe in "screwing over workers." If people have no options, then this is a legitimate argument. But when you have the freedom to quit a job you hate, you can't be screwed over without your own consent. So it's difficult for me to have any pity for those people.

I'm still waiting for you to answer your own question. Why does Unifier oppose a capitalist system? Looking through your posts, it's quite to clear to me that you prefer collectivism.

Or maybe I should try this from a different angle. What is your definition of capitalism?

In my case, the most desirable social order is that which best encourages each individual to find happiness by developing virtues and excellence of character. Alas, I cannot think of any way to turn that into a tree metaphor.

To this I must protest! The same could have been said of classical liberalism, once upon a time. By demanding historical proof of a system's desirability before having any willingness to experiment with said system you are essentially shutting the door on exploring even the possibility of any yet-to-be-implemented system being better than the one already in place. That is perfectly fine if you are content with how things already are. I am not, and do not believe history as it pertains to political-economic systems ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union. There are pages not yet written.

And that hints at the very core of what divides the right and left, so far as my understanding goes. Sticking to what has worked in the past is not what the best leftists are all about. They are curious. They are innovators, they are visionaries, they set aside conventional wisdom and go back to the drawing board in search of the next big thing.

Compared to such folk I am not even all that radical, considering that I get a lot of political influence from earlier (many of them liberal!) thinkers such as Rousseau, Locke, Madison, Eucken, and - albeit in a modest way - Hayek. To stress my point on the matter, I do not even see myself as abandoning liberal ideals, rather extending them to more facets of our lives than did the Founders, learning from some of their mistakes - and those of later leaders - to build up a more perfect union. What you see as baseless idealism is to me the next step of an American experiment that began in 1776.

You are right, (*)(*)(*)(*) your god, and (*)(*)(*)(*) your christ.

Matthew 19:21, maybe you are too intellectually bankrupt to even come close to understanding the verse?

That's right, nearly. Except on one thing, mass organisation. And this is what increasingly is going on since begin turn of the century/new millenium, because all problems and changes have caused the one same thing in millions, resistance. If millions of people fight the same problems (and are in the same fear) they are going to band/group together (artificially, because it's caused by tyranny), and because of fight (and also by fear and emotion propaganda) emotions increase. Organization by emotion is the most strongest way of organizing a population, because people can't see their own emotions very well, or just can't (emotions lower clear thinking) By depression/recession/crisis or euphoria they can also organize millions of people btw (look how they e.g organize the gays, by euphorism, and most people by a long period of very bad economy) Capitalism is the big problem behind all this, it is the wrong fundament (the powers at be have gathered most of the wealth and have way to much power) A safe fundament is one that is based on ecology (eco-energy and carbon based technology, because ecology is sustaining for millions of years, in Germany capitalism ended one day, so history also proofs how a problem capitalism is), because nature was not created by people but by the universe (big bang) or by God if you are religious. The new model should be a system with an ecological and carbon fundament, not a money and oil based fundament (money can be used to buy people, is causing corruption, and so on) The contrast in distribution of wealth also shows that capitalism is wrong and unfair.

Before us didn't the Dutch beat you? And after wasn't it Ireland? And not shortly after I'm fairly certain our help was begged for in modern conflicts. Sounds like England aint doing so good is it?

The problem with your 'visionary' and 'innovative' curiousity is that you wish to use a Petri dish the rest of us inhabit.

I propose that these great innovative and visionary leftists take a trip to Jupiter and give breathing in the atmosphere of that planet a shot. You are curious, after all, and aren't about sticking to what has worked in the past. How about engaging in your child-like (and in nearly every case, ignorant of history and human nature) curiosity without risking the rest of society in the process?

If you come back healthier and better off, then the rest of us will listen.

I think a lot of that is just plain wrong.

Emotion is powerful as an organizing force, but it has major drawbacks. First, emotions don't last forever, and when you're only involved in an issue because of your emotional reaction to that issue, once the "feelings" -- be they anger or joy or fear -- leave, there's no reason for the group to continue to exist. Once you stop being mad about Chik-Fil-A, either because of a symbolic act to appease the mob or because you can only keep a good mad going for so long, you stop caring and the pressure stops. Second, as I sort of mentioned, it tends to be easy to appease a person with symbolic change. If you're mad because a company refuses to do something like say hire enough women or blacks in leadership roles, they'll hire some high profile woman as CEO or CFO and do nothing else. For most of that rank and file, very little changes, but blacks or woman or whoever now have "a seat at the table", so the company is good now. And the pressure stops. The third thing, and to me the biggest thing, is that emotion-based solutions are the feel-good solutions, simplistic and based on a weak understanding of the issues at play. In the issue of protecting the environment there are lots of needs that must be balanced -- the need for an economy that provides jobs for people without college is going to need manufacturing, and the factory is going to pollute, people need transportation, and the cars and busses pollute as well. Simply using your emotions, that's horrible. You can't have those evil polluting factories in our neighborhood, but what do you do with the people who need the jobs in the factories? Not all of them are capable of college, and even if they could, graduating college is no guarentee of a good job. Same thing with cars -- are you going to force people to move to urban areas just to make public transport work? Are you going to be able to make buses and trains run on time and thus a viable way to get to work? Emotions don't allow you to think about a solution that works, just how to make the immediate pain stop. It does nothing about complex issues with multiple causes and many moving parts that all need to be taken into account.

tens of millions of Europeans are Christians.

You, as a Black Hebrew Israelite, are in no place to judge the religion of others.

They claim to be christians but are merely pagans, they follow pagan traditions. That makes them pagan. Dont believe the mainstream deception that these people follow any biblical traditions. Just like the secular jewish ppl, it's all political gamesmanship.

Also Im white, so how can I be a Hebrew Israelite!

-The Black Hebrew Israelites believe that Uruguay and Argentina are part of the 12 Tribes of Israel, even though they are 75% white.

-ALL Christians follow Pagan traditions, as Christianity was created by the Roman Pagans.

    pagan is defined as:

An adherent of a polytheistic religion in antiquity, especially when viewed in contrast to an adherent of a monotheistic religion.

Now I want you to get something that is not just gibberish to back your assertion up. Get me some proof, get me some evidence.

    or else

BTW, you have to love the political Right and their endless claims to their "Christian values"...

they who bemoan "girls getting pregnant out of wedlock due to lack of morality at home".....but support Sarah Palin.

they who talk about "defending traditional marriage".....but love Rush Limbaugh.

they who talk about the "if-it-feels-good-do-it sexual immorality of the Left"....but voted for Newt Gignrich last year, with Wife #3/Mistress #2 in tow.

There you go, you proved it yourself, they worship all manner of deities like saturn (saturnalia) and celtic tree decorating (christmas), all pagan, every holiday they celebrate is pagan and not biblical.

most black American Christians have a Christmas tree, which means they aren't real Christians, according to you.

they also celebrate Easter with the Easter Bunny, which is more Paganism. So black American Christians aren't Christian....according to you.

They don't worship them. The holidays are pagan in origin but theyhave been remade into christian ones. It is christ that is celebrated on easter and christmas.

No, it is cecar borgia who is celebrated, not yeshua. Yeshua's skin was like brass as if burnt in a furnace, that is not white, have you seen what happens when something is burnt in a furnace? His hair was like wool also the Israelites had braided hair in all the pics we have from Km.t to Sumeria [lachich reliefs]. You know what braided hair is? We call it corn rows nowadays. Why you think jewish ppl try to curl their hair? To look like Israelites because thats who they want you to think they are.
