Geez, dunno why over here in Canada the leadership immediately began beating the wardrums? Harper was foaming that since two Canadian nationals were killed he would hop on the war bandwagon to go after al-Qaeda anywhere and everywhere the network exists possibly even in nations like Syria where it did not exist until armed and briefed on the objectives by the West. Intervention of course implies it can be expanded in scope as need arises to deal with the terrorism threat to include gov't toppling and nation building. Then it surfaced that a Canadian was among the attackers who besieged the mall and Harper had to curtail his tail since a counter-argument could be drawned that Canada is a breeding ground for terrorists who then attack other nations, and if Harper is ineffective at dealing with this in his own backyard, then someone else from outside should perhaps come along to help him manage the problem more effectively deploying what ever means as the need arises. Kenya surely does have special police and army units and there's also that military corps acting on behalf of the African Union.

 

Nothing bad for us when our enemies are killing each other, as the good book says:
