I must admit, I've been away from the forum for a long time. After looking through all the posts and the happenings that have gone on the past year or so, I'm left with one question....how can ANYONE defend Obama still? Nothing that he has done has been for the betterment of the country. His decisions are terrible, his leadership horrendous. Can you possibly still have something positive to say about this man?

Yes. Easily. See Junius, fils #123-137, recently re-posted (and NOT rebutted).

Defend him from what? Pernicious attacks on his birth? on his race? on his family? He is the President of the United States. Get over it.

How can Republican voters still vote Republican? We non Republican voters have been wondering the same thing do you. Find that answer and, you'll answer our collective question. Besides, the alternative the right offered up was...Romney. Really? What's to understand, really?

Nobody is really defending him since he lost and won't run again probably.

Although he has terrible positions on certain issues like immigration, affirmative action, Gitmo, and the Muslim Brotherhood, he has come up with good intentions and ideas with the Affordable Care Act ( but which needs to have the AA taken out, and should be expanded to included veterinary care), and raising taxes on the rich (although he hasn't done it nearly enough-should be raised to 90%).

That was the GOP solution offered up though. That wasn't much...granted. It would be nice if the GOP could offer solutions though, instead of not acknowledging the problem to begin with, like they did on healthcare.

Republicans have blocked almost everything Obama has tried to do.

How can anyone with even a shred of intelligence blame Obama?

Obama is an imperialist puppet for child sacrificing satanists who centralized the power of their ancient incestuous bloodline onto the british throne, then moved it to Washington D.C.

I had a much harder time trying to find positive things to say about GW Bush then I do for Obama. While Obama hasn't done that much for organized labor in this country, he's left us alone, unlike his predecessor where it was open season on labor unions. To me that makes Obama a much better President then Bush, Reagan and daddy Bush.

To me there's far more to it than that, but taking just your point here alone, you make a good point.

Hmmm... well, "attack" is hyperbole. Don't get me wrong, I understand what you mean, it's not your fault the language you need to use for to communicate with other people has been warped FUBAR by a million spoiled rotten drama queens. So, technically, in a way you are correct. Barack Obama is the President of the United States, and I for one am not going to have my loyalties questioned by some pernicious authoritarian propagandists. It sucks when they do that, you know?

It's sort of his job to accept responsibility for the United States. If there's a problem, it's up to him to sort it out, but instead he keeps throwing boomerangs. He's on TV right now doing it again, it's insane. It's like, if your car is overheating, what do you do about it, do you stop and shut it off to work on it, or do you put it into neutral and rev the motor to the red line until it blows? Can't just keep on injecting more campaign speeches into the mix, doesn't matter if it's positive or negative. Sheesh, why is it that only the Russians seem to understand that sometimes diplomacy requires silence?

Well, that is one way of looking at it, can't really argue against that.

I wish he could run for a third term. Finally glad he has grown a pair in dealing with the GOP.

As a Conservative party member, much of what Obama does is against my political convictions but there are a couple of things I do like.

He's really giving the racist idiots a run as they can't stand a black man in the white house.
He's making the republicans look stupid but, I have to admit, the Republicans are helping him out a lot in that.

The American Republicans, or at least their more extreme side, are shooting themselves in their collective feet as we've just seen with this crazy shut down.
Anything that keeps that lot of idiots out of office has to be a good thing.

However, if a sensible republican party emerges from the ashes of the idiots in their ranks at the moment, I'd be naturally inclined to support them.

What can one really say after that deep, thoughtful, comprehensive analysis? The kind you hear from Rush Limbaugh and FOX News every day.

It must be embarrassing as hell being a democrat these days. Trying to ignore or explain things like the fact that Obama outright refuses to compromise at all. Or trying to explain his childish closing the WWII memorial to 80 and 90 year old vets. How about locking Catholic priests out of military bases and threatening to arrest them. Obama's ego has turned him into a childish joke.

A former Secret Service agent who served on the lead Presidential detail, Dan Bongino, says Obama never accepts responsibility for anything bad that happens in his administration. (My summary of his radio remarks yesterday as guest host of the Mark Levin show.)

    http://www.marklevinshow.com/common/page.php?pt=podcasts&id=191&is_corp=0

It was his job to keep Presidents safe from all harm and dangers. He was with the men close up and personal for many hours everyday for years. So, his observations and opinions carry a great deal of weight.

He is very critical of Obama's performance as POTUS.

But YOU WANT MORE of this no account President?

    Here, enjoy!

It's a sad fact, the vast majority of politicians are corrupt B'stards who'll say pretty much anything to get cash and power.
We need a political world full of Maggie Thatchers.
