Making abortion illegal IS giving the fetus more rights than the woman. It is essentially reducing her to nothing more than an incubator that is not allowed to medically interfere with her own Biological functions in any way.

Ok, now lets get some meat on the bones you are supplying, and please remember this scenario is being played out in a time when abortion has been made illegal.

A non-pregnant woman has exactly the same rights as you do, she has body autonomy and freedom of choice. No person may use her body without her consent, no person may cause injury to her without her consent.

If said woman becomes pregnant in the pro-life utopia she immediately losses both of those rights, the fetuses rights are considered greater than the females rights, to add to that the fetus also has the right to utilize the body of another individual in order to sustain its own life .. no other person on the planet has that right.

Once the pregnancy is complete (assuming a normal birth) the woman automatically regains the rights she lost while pregnant, while the now baby also losses the right to use the females body in order to sustain it's life.

So again I ask the question - Why should the fetus be given extra rights over and above those already granted to all other people?

Not only are you advocating making a fetus of higher standing than any other person you would remove established rights in the process to achieve it .. why are you so free and easy with other peoples rights?

    Because the fetus is innocent.

So if I have never committed any crime or sinned in the eyes of 'god' I to can claim extra rights over others

I really hope you are not ever in a situation where your rights are over ruled for the sake of another, but I suspect if you were you would be screaming your lungs out about the 'injustice' of it.

Actually, the pregnancy itself doesn't violate a woman's "rights" or impose obligations on her. It's the action of raising a child after it's born that "violates a woman's liberty". She can just give it up for adoption or leave it at the hospital once it's born. There's no need for abortion. That's why I believe abortion isn't a woman's right.

What does it mean to "incubate" a baby? And how is that even relevant to this thread?

As usual you have it completely the wrong way round, and as usual you try to move the goalposts away from you own inane comments.

Kepp trying, you never know one day you might actually make an argument that has a semblance of relevance

How are my comments irrelevant? I was trying to argue that pregnancy isn't an invasion of liberty. Refuting the opposite side's arguments is not irrelevant.

You ignored the comment you responded to and just posted something irrelevant to the comment you quoted.

    If you have to ask...

That's just it. You try but for reasons we well know you never quite manage to make it. Oh well, you know what they say, keep trying...
Who knows some day you may even have enough understanding and knowledge or maybe just get lucky...

My children are very aware of what pregnancy does to a woman's body, because they have children of their own. Women willingly sacrifice their health and bodies, and risk their lives when they want a child, but they should never EVER be forced to.

I am left to wonder why someone who will never experience a thing, cannot possibly understand the implications personally, must use imagination to fathom it.....feels they are in a position to critique those who actually "Know" the thing.

If you do not understand what incubate means, you should not be on this thread.

How many times have you been pregnant? Given birth?

As is the mother....try again. This still does not make the removal of rights acceptable.

If I was to make a machine that was attached to you and sapped your energy, physically changed your body, caused you to feel ill, and might possibly kill you when detached.....would you consider it an affront to your personal liberties ?

Although I am a pro lifer (a genuine one contrary to the hypocrisy of the right wingers) it sure be borne in mind that abortion was LEGAL under the Anglo Saxon common law. Therefore, it is a right under the Constitution. For those who do not believe in intrusive government this should be the position you take on the issue.

i sat in a kitchen once with this ball breaker of a bag biter of a woman and listened to her rant to her children about the scars she bore from having them…

the poor little kids blinked in guilt …just stood their blinking their little eyes with stunned faces ….being filled with guilt …

i wonder if her children are doing the same to their children , both were girls...

It was in reference to this:

And also toward you general belief that you, as a man, have the slightest clue or right to critique a woman and her pregnancy. While I could understand such a belief were you directly involved (the sperm donor)....you really have no say in what a stranger does with her body, or fetus. You sound as if you do not believe in the rights and freedoms inherent n this country.

ok so you want to tell your children that they should be grateful for the fact they ruined your body…

may i ask if you really were that beautiful in the first place…

not some airy fairy beauty but real drop dead gorgeous to begin with…

i an trying figure out how you come to this level of ruining children with placing some sort of honest guilt trip on them for you giving birth to them…

people that do that and are shown to do that with what they say and defend in type ….are just well….i doubt if you understand….

a real mother would never enter into telling her kids that they gave them any bother in birthing them or bringing them up…

now i realize i am only a sperm donor to some women and that makes it all ok for some women to rant with sociopathic glee about something that is by nature the essence of life.

Shawn Phillips said it best back in the day…a song about a pregnant women ends like this...

Stand tall, you spittle-smattered son of man
Stand up, you hear them say
To slap you down and kick your teeth
    And smile across the bay

    Irrelevant eloquent pleading
Wasn't what she did this year
She passed it by and told a lie
    And shed a crystal tear

For him to see, from valley's edge
    From plateaus in the sand
And yet he has be(*)(*)(*)(*) himself
    For being just a man

the word was the s word ending in t

censorship ruining poetry …wonder if the censor is a bag biter?

Very well then....for the Logically dysfunctional mind, lets try this approach:

If they are two separate bodies, then each has the right to it's own personal liberty of self. As the woman has the ability to separate herself from the other body...she has every right to protect herself from the other entity that is attached to her without permission. The other entity cannot express it's rights, nor can it in any way prevent her from acting in protection of her own.

By attempting to defend the rights of this entity, you would be preventing the other from using her rights in the process.

So....apparently you wish to focus on a supposed experience you claim to have had where a woman guilted her kids because she had them, rather than address your belief that YOU should decide what someone else is to do with their own body.

Whatever.....by the way, what is a "Bag Biter"?
