ISRAEL, BE READY FOR JOHN KERRY

    www.israelmybeloved.com

As US Secretary of State John Kerry boards his plane for yet another flight to the Middle East, here are a few requests the Israel's government could have ready to make to its American guest.

    1. Please convey to President Barack Obama, with all due respect, that unless Jonathan Pollard - who has not murdered even one American - is set free after his 26 years in prison, Israel will renege on its readiness to release Palestinian prisoners - most of who are cold-blooded killers, and have spent far less time in jail.

    2. Please convey to Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas, who has stated his intention not to let one Israeli Jew live in his sought-after Palestine, that he needs to prepare to open the gates of his new state to all the Palestinian Arab citizens of Israel. For if the United States has nothing to say about Abbas' desire to have a judenrein Palestine, it will surely have nothing to say about Israel becoming a araberrein Jewish state.

    3. Please make clear to the PA leadership - and the rest of the Arab world - that the Palestinian Muslim-inspired lie denying any historical Jewish connection to Jerusalem and its Temple Mount (where twice in history God's holy House stood for Israel, His people) - a falsehood whose purpose is to sever this city from Israel and the Jewish people - that this denial will deal a death blow to the present negotiations.

    4. Kindly remind your president of how Israel's enemies have misused Israel's past withdrawals - from South Lebanon and Gaza - and allowed tens of thousands of rockets to be fired from these areas into peace-loving Israeli neighborhoods. In the light of this, please make it clear to Abbas and his gang that no Israeli government can be expected to agree to withdraw from areas even nearer to its main populated areas, without keeping a firm military presence in the Jordan Valley to prevent such a repeated misuse of its willingness for peace! And please note how essential this is, all the more so given the abysmal betrayal Israel has experienced after entrusting its basic security needs to the international community!

    5. Please make it unmistakably clear to Mr Abbas right now - and not after the present talks break down - that if the international community really wants to see a positive outcome resulting from these talks, it will not be pressuring Israel into making ever more concessions - let alone lure her with financial and other international guarantees. Rather, these nations will be encouraged to bring the pressure to bear where it belongs, telling the Palestinian leaders, in no uncertain terms, that unless they fully commit to respecting this bare minimum of Israel's demands - including the reality that they are making peace with a Jewish democratic state in their region, THEY, and not Israel, will be held responsible for the breakdown of the current negotiations

The issues between Israel an the neighbors are far to complex and screwed up for any person to deal with. The U.S. has tried and failed to arbitrate for decades, and will likely fail again.

Kerry seems as good a person as any to try again......but expecting these people to play nice is naïve at best.

What interest could Israel possibly have in the release of an American traitor? Are they looking forward to having a parade when this weasel gets out? You people are really a shameless two faced bunch...

US used Israeli Jews to spy for them in Israel so the two face shameless slurs better fit those that think Pollard was something special IMO.

I do like the idea of putting a "full court press" to insist on the release of Jonathon Pollard.

Regardless of his degree of guilt, he has served more time for the crime than is usual.
It smacks of antisemitism to continue his imprisonment.
And I believe it would be a good idea for Israel to be as obstinate and arrogant as possible toward :flagus:
until Mr. Pollard is freed and allowed to immigrate to Israel.

Former US Asst. Sec. of Defense: Pollard's Imprisonment 'Absurd' Given US Spying
Fmr. Assistant Secretary of Defense lashes out after US spying revelations,
comes as Obama omits Pollard from clemency list.

    ri Yashar, Arutz Sheva Staff - Arutz7 - December 21, 2013
    http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/175388#.UrYNG_vYBad

Former Assistant Secretary of Defense Dr. Lawrence Korb on Saturday night
said that Jonathan Pollard's ongoing imprisonment, in light of new
revelations of US spying on Israeli leaders, is "absurd" and a "moral
    embarrassment."

Korb's comments come as US President Barack Obama omitted Pollard from the
13 pardons he issued last Thursday. In addition to the 13, 6 of whom were
drug dealers, Obama commuted the sentence on 8 other criminals, all of them
drug dealers.[J4JP Clarification: Pollard was not seeking a pardon. He was
seeking commutation of his sentence to time-served.]

"The lack of proportion of Pollard's sentence and his weakening medical
condition in any case demands his release by any measure of justice,"
    remarked Korb.

Korb noted the new revelations show "that during the time that (the US is)
so stubborn about (Pollard's) continued sentence after 29 years, we
ourselves are spying on Israeli leaders."

According to the reports released Friday, America's National Security Agency
(NSA), along with British spy agencies, was spying on the e-mail traffic of
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his predecessor Ehud Olmert.

These revelations "bring the (Pollard) case to dimensions of true
absurdity," says Korb, emphasizing that "Pollard's release now isn't just
demanded by justice, but will also remove from (the US) moral
    embarrassment."

When confronted with the revelations on US spying, the White House stated
that it "collects intelligence information similar to the information
    collected by all other countries."

Obama's decision not to pardon Pollard came despite a written offer last
week by Prof. Angelo Codevilla, a member of the professional staff of the
Senate Intelligence Committee at the time of Pollard's arrest, to give
expert testimony in clearing Pollard's name. Codevilla is familiar with the
case's file that has been kept secret.

The decision further comes despite a December 10 letter from Bill
Richardson, a close confidant of Obama and former US Ambassador to the UN,
calling on the president to release Pollard immediately.

J4JP Clarification: Pollard was not seeking a pardon. He was seeking
commutation of his sentence to time-served.]

Don't give us that "two face" talk when the US is spying on everybody including it's closest allies such as Germany England and France leaders.
It is time you release Pollard. No other spy have been locked for so long and definitely for such trivial deeds.
It only reflects poorly on you guys.

a good compromise for the Jordan Valley would be NATO troops guard the border for the forceable future, with unarmed Israeli observors.

If you want your precious slimy little traitor released, then urge your government to provide the US with a list of what you got and what you did with it. Pretty simple really.

    you don't get it.

majority of Israeli Jews accept an Arab state in the West Bank.

    even Netanyahu.

the only question is: how big will it be.

What I've read is that it's the "intelligence community" that has insisted on Pollard's continued imprisonment. The reason is that he was one of them who broke the rules. Severity toward Pollard encourages others not to do the same.

Of course Pollard did no harm to the US. His crime was to give some secret weapons information to Israel, not to use against the US but against Israel's Arab enemies. Still, Pollard broke his trust. Bradley Manning, who gave secrets to Julian Assange for publication, got a 35 year sentence. Snowden is still on the loose. So I'm sorry for Pollard, but his sentence was neither cruel nor unusual.

This thread has provoked the usual vile eruptions of bigotry from the anti-semites the Political Forum allows to infest this place under the pretense of expressing political opinions. I'm still waiting for the first posts from the KKK or the Aryan Nation protected by their supposedly "political" nature. We can only pray that their Christian Lord and Savior one day blesses them with loving hearts.

Ever since the original partition the United Nations has never done a thing to assure Israel's existence.
Remember, the partition required a 2/3rds vote by the U.N. and as the organized armies of Arab nations invaded to "push Israel into the sea" at that time, U.N. Peace Keepers were no where to be found.
If the U.N. did send " effectual peace keeper troops", it would be a first in some 66 years.
Remember those blue helmets stationed in the Sinai. When Egypt was ready for a "war" again, they kicked the UN out.
    Some Peace Keeping Mission.

The U.N. has never had a "pro Israel" leader or hardly an equal treatment sort. Can you name one?
The worst offenders of UN impartiality being Dag Hammarskjöld and Kurt Waldheim, the ex Nazi.

The best compromise would be if Jordon took dominion over the Palestinian population west of the Jordon River.
The Palestinian people have proven they are incapable of self rule.
They are incapable of maintaining the peace from within the turf they control and are just a
conflict of criminals / mafias like Ukraine.

What part don't I have right, Ronstar?

Moi is right that the UN has been ineffectual. As for NATO, I doubt its troops could be impartial. Most NATO member states, except the US, are to some degree both anti-Israel and anti-Semitic; they want to curry favor with Arab states for oil. Who could trust them to be fair brokers of a peace?

So who can guarantee peace? The Palestinians. After 66 years of murderous attacks on Israelis and Jews, they're the only ones in a position to make a sincere and enforceable peace offer. The Irish Republican Army is a good analogy. After many decades of murder, they were willing to make a compromise and to enforce a peace. The English couldn't have done that, no matter what they offered. Similarly, Israel has been making offers to the Palestinians for decades to no avail, including a Palestinian state. Bloodshed will end only when the Palestinians are ready to do as the IRA did. As of now, the Palestinians are still committed to the destruction of Israel and all its people. So long as they hold that position, no peace is possible.

Western leftists make the mistake of thinking the Palestinians are mainly out for material gain, that they want land, money, etc. So the leftists think the trouble is that Israel isn't willing to buy peace. But Israel (and the US) have offered the Palestinians every sort of material inducement and been rejected. Right now, the Palestinians are moved mainly by hate and pride. They want to kill and destroy and feel important because of it. Terrorism suits them.

Directing ill will toward Israel will accomplish nothing. Most of the anti-Israeli anti-semites here secretly (or not so secretly) dream of the same genocide begun by Hitler. They want to see death and destruction. The endless carping about Israel's self-defense is just so they can feel self-righteous about the murder they long for. Those who doubt what I'm saying must answer one question: what have the Palestinians not been offered for peace over the years? If the Palestinians have been offered every concession yet refused, there is no escaping the conclusion that they want bloody conflict; that massacre is not a means to an end, but the end itself.

Bradley Manning was sentenced to 35 years confinement with the possibility of parole in eight years. So it is very possible that he will be free in 8 years in condition of clean record in prison like many others. Bradley Manning could interact with other detainees.
Pollard was sentenced to life in prison and served already more than 27 years. He spent seven years in solitary confinement.
There is a feeling of unfare treatment. Some israeli politicians also consider the issue as play to get from Israel additional political concessions.
"Report: Kerry to mull freeing Pollard as condition for Palestinian prisoners release "
    http://www.jpost.com/Diplomacy-and-Politics/Report-Kerry-to-mull-freeing-Pollard-as-condition-for-Palestinian-prisoners-release-336375
And now we have reports about Washington spied on its own allies including Israel.. Not good feeling.

I didn't know those details about Pollard. Thanks. It makes me more sympathetic. But Israel can't compromise its security for one man. I wish Pollard well, but he's going to need luck. If the US government is using him as a bargaining chip, they've waited for many years to cash in their chip. I can't imagine what they're waiting for.

Israel should full court press for the release of Pollard as a
"pre condition", to any talks with Kerry. Just as the Arabs and their "pre conditions".
After Pollard's release, Israel should deliver "nothing" and say
:nana: now :flagus: YOU know how it feels.

Israel should explore closer ties with China who I bet would love Israeli agricultural technology.
Remember, it has been Americans who support Israel. Not America. Go figure. Hint: Oil
