I did not endorse or condemn gay marriage. I am having trouble seeing your allegation of my hypocrisy holding any water.

 

That is because you are usually the last to see your own hypocrisy.

You want the state to endorse gay marriage just like the state now endorses heterosexual marriage. Why should the state endorse any sexual union? This sort of self righteous attitude toward certain sexual unions, or just the fact you are sexually active, is sickening.

 

I am thinking....yep..... A practice that if followed by the entire species would lead to its extinction is still abnormal. You can have as much sex with men as you want, no one will persecute you, but it is still abnormal. Being born with a defect that will inhibit your ability to spread your DNA is not the norm. 97% of people aren't born with it.

Libertarianism is the original conservative stance. Although it's called classical liberalism (at the time it was a liberal move away from monarchy and toward self-determination and individual liberty TO SUCCEED through one's one hard work) it was and is a stance of small govt which is limited to the bounds of the Constitution and is fiscally conservative and socially non-attendant as those issues are rightfully and appropriately the purview of the individual states. It's most definitely NOT about legalizing drugs. The Libertarian party stance is that drugs are a societal issue and the right of the individual states to address.

I'm sad that you (as an old friend of mine) don't know what the libertarian position is. I hope this clarification helped..
I'm socially moderate to conservative, but the federal govt has no business <NONE> in those matters.

The federal govt is bloated and greedy and uses climate, social issues, and usurpation of it's constitutional authority to impose tyranny on us. That is WRONG and the reason we're so in debt and losing our rights and liberties more and more each day.

Trending in the low 20%'s, almost 10% less than 10 years ago. Trending down since then. Independent leaning on the rise and the pull is more from republican than democrat.
