I knew that this new law legalizing and allowing stores selling marijuana was idiotic.

The difference between selling liquor, wine and beer against selling marijuana is the way of obtaining the product, the way of carrying the product, the way of processing the product, the way of... heck... everything is different.

Anyone can have plants of marijuana in his house -farm or city- and smoke the product, but such can't happen with liquor, wine and beer.

Carrying great amounts of marijuana is easy, but such is not possible with liquor, wine and beer.

Processing marijuana for smoking is just to let it dry, some people even use the iron to dry up the plant faster. Such is not possible to process liquor, wine and beer.

In other words, this law is so stupid, that won't prevent crimes in order to obtain marijuana, but on the contrary, crime will start to increase, and the news from below are just the beginning.

    http://www.nbcnews.com/#/storyline/legal-pot/robber-gangs-terrorize-colorado-pot-shops-n20111

One thief, posing as a delivery man, pulled a can of bear mace on employees and ransacked their marijuana shop, fleeing in a defensive cloud of “ultra-pepper” spray. Another opened the wall of a dispensary with an ax and attacked the store’s safe with a circular saw. Still another stuck to the basics. He kicked in the front door and pointed his gun at the counterman. An accomplice kicked in the back door and filled a duffel bag with more than $10,000 worth of high-quality cannabis.

The drug dealers of Mexico won't be affected at all with this new law in the US legalizing marijuana. On the contrary, the crimes committed by this drug dealers won't be in mexico and Colombia alone, but now will come into the USA thanks to the easy proliferation of this plant allowed by the new law.

what???? So do you think alcohol laws are stupid as well when someone steals beer ? Liquor ? What a weird connection to make....

Clothing, shoes, electronics, all get stolen as well. Are they stupid too?

Do you know how supply and demand works? Since you can now legally grow it and distribute it, you will have more of the product.... thus lowering prices due to competition. The state laws in those areas do not make it easier to smuggle marijuana across the border....your rant is all over the place.

People can grow tobacco too. They can also home brew alcohol. And both of these things are stolen out of stores as well.

When's the last time a liquor store was robbed for 10g worth of product? You'd need a freaking truck to haul off the goods...

Depends on the quality of liquor.... or alcohol. But what does that really have to do with the legalization being stupid? Because 10g of a product gets robbed it somehow makes legalization bad?

Legalization is stupid for thousands of other reasons, but seeing the crimes that come with it only adds to the list...

---Thieves posing as truckers made off with $300,000 worth or walnuts and $400,000 worth of king crab. That's only a couple of items stolen, literally, by the truck load. It's not that hard, and anything of value is at risk of theft.

So you have no economic education at all.

Let's say that the government collects one big fat million dollars per month but it has to spend $3m extra to regulate to product, protect the stores, protect the customers, etc.. Net loss to the tax payers. If the states want to sell weed they should tax it in accordance with costs. Because there is already little enforcement on the small use violation side I don't see much savings there so the costs are going to be regulations and protection.

Far more crime comes from prohibition than legalization. This was proven a long, long time ago.

Not to mention the at store being robbed is not something new. Google "store robbery". After going through the hundereds of thousands of stories you can get back to us on this 'new' crime.

Here is just Philadelphia recent robery stories:

Hey what do you know, Jewlery seems to get robbed a lot. BAN IT!!!!

The sale , income of owners, and income of growers will be taxed. Protection ? As in the already existent police force ? Or are you claiming that they are creating something new just for marijuana ? If so , please provide proof. Finally, people who would normally be in jail or prison for marijuana crimes will not be in there anymore due to it being legal. Do you have any idea what it cost to house someone in a jail or prison ? Cost of litigation ?

    http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/12/04/robbers-attack-man-with-stun-gun-steal-ipad-minis/

CHICAGO (CBS) – A stun gun attack by two robbers has been caught on surveillance video. The assault happened Saturday night in Chicago’s West Loop. CBS 2’s Mike Parker tells the story in this Original Report.
A man leaves his apartment to meet two women parked out front. It is supposed to be a Craigslist meet up and sale. We’ll call the man “Nick,” because he wants his identity concealed. He had bought six iPad Minis for $299.00 apiece at a Target store. The women, who reached out to his Craigslist ad say they want to buy three of them.
He leans over as they sit in their car.
“We start talking about the transaction, the three iPads,” he says.
As they talk, surveillance video shows two men walking past. Seconds later, they come back and head right for the man, “Nick”, holding the merchandise.
“Before I know it, I’ve got something on the back of my neck,” Nick says, “and these guys are wrestling me to the ground smacking me.”
He says the attackers pressed a stun gun to his neck. A careful look at the video shows the brief flash of the weapon.
“I could hear that clacking noise from the electricity too,” Nick says.
After throwing the iPad Mini loot into the women’s car, the criminals make their getaway. They’re just a block from the Kennedy Expressway at Randolph.
“Nick” says he’s learned a lesson about meeting up with potential Craigslist buyers. “The cops said if someone’s not willing to meet you in a cop parking lot or in a public mall, then it’s not worth the transaction.”
The thieves did not get the $450 in free gift cards that the victim got from Target.
Nick was treated by paramedics after the robbery. His injuries were not serious.
Witnesses to the crime got the license plate number of the getaway car. Chicago Police are investigating

I knew legalizing iPad mini's would lead to more crime. Contrary to what Apple told us, crime will start to increase.

With a Mr. Beer kit is is insanely ease to brew your own beer. Not that bad either. Funny thing is, you don't have to be to buy the Mr. Beer kits from stores. Wish they were around when I was in HS, we would have just brewed our own for the weekends.

Why would someone buy it on a street corner instead of going into the store since they can legally sell it.....?

I know quote a few people who ferment their own beer and wine, so what is your point?

Tell me, did the re-legalization of liquor make the organized crime stronger or weaker?

Is there any evidence the black market has completely fallen out on weed in CO? Dealers can sell for the same price minus tax, and in this Obama economy every penny counts...

---It's a moot point anyway. The inability of thieves to sell artwork worth tens of millions of dollars doesn't keep them from stealing it.
