BTW, one of the many lies the "pro-life" folks tell is that...

Another Sam contradiction....he'll contradict his own statements, if you pay attention to him long enough.

The only defenders by the activists have been those who want late-term kept legal for the woman's health.

BTW, does this mean we can put you down for wanting to keep abortion legal in the first trimester?

My take on it is this. There is approximately a 50/50 agreement/disagreement on abortions. There is not a majority consensus on this like say, murder in the first. I would like to see government get out of completely and keep this something between the doctor and patient and let God sort it out in the end.

How is Government "in it"...now? Hyde Amendment prevents Gov't funding of abortion.

How and by whom was it "understood" that RvW pertained to the first trimester? It is clearly spelled out in RvW that women can choose for any reason in the first trimester, states can regulate in the second trimester ONLY for reasons of the woman's health, and states may regulate in the third trimester.

What I stated was the way it was sold to the public at the time.

    - - - Updated - - -

I support no government funding, intervention, or regulation (with the exception of safe medical practices in general) period.

the problem isn't contraction no one wants to take away access to it. to some it goes against their religious belief to be forced to provide it
Having a right doesn't mean that right has to provided by others

I have a right to own a gun a right that is granted by the constitution. does that mean that you have to provide me that right? can I force you to go to the gun store and buy one for me? would you want your tax money go towards the purchase of one for me?

I was around in 1973 and I don't recall any "selling" at all. A decision made by the SC doesn't have to be popular with the public.

    Re-state Santorum's opinion....

suppose some "anti-gun liberal" was running for President and said "Gun ownership is DANGEROUS".

He wouldn't be talking about "Federal funding to buy a gun"....but his view that gun ownership should be restricted or even eliminated.

And again, Santorum said that...about contraception. And he's no "fringer" (I mean among "pro-lifers"....certainly he is in general American politics).

Furthering that, if government wasn't involved, why was the SCOTUS ever called in on it? Those pretending government isn't involved are naive at best.

Why was the SCOTUS called in for "Brown v. Board of Education"?
