O’Keefe Busts Illegal Voter Scheme to ‘Turn Texas Blue’

SAN ANTONIO, Texas—In an apparent violation of state law, Battleground Texas officials are exploiting legally protected information to turn voters out to the polls as part of the Democratic party's quest to paint the Lone Star State blue, a new undercover video from James O'Keefe reveals.

The footage shows Battleground Texas volunteer Jennifer Longoria saying the group uses the phone numbers from voter registration forms in later efforts to boost turnout on election day.

Texas Election Code prohibits the use of, or even the copying of, phone numbers provided by individuals registering to vote.

“Every time we register somebody to vote, we keep their name, address, phone number,” Longoria said.

The video also shows volunteers calling to boost turnout for Wendy Davis's gubernotorial bid.

The new revelations are likely to add to concerns about an apparent culture of data sharing among Democrat-aligned political and nonprofit organizations. For example, a previous O'Keefe expose raised questions about whether campaigns to get people to sign up for Obamacare had secondary political motives.

If it is true, I don't think it is a big deal other then it being against a Texas law. So someone calls you to tell you to vote. Big Whoop. It isn't changing a vote or stealing an election. When more citizens take ownership in their election process by voting the country is better.

O'Keefe is a conservative, ex-con, criminal who makes bogus claims and dishonest documentaries. Anyone who takes him seriously is not a critical thinker.

 

Why do conservtives want fewer people to vote?

First they created voter ID laws that made sure that the state IDs that Republican voters already had were valid to vote and then they are resticting early voting.

It's obvious that Republicans know they can't win elections when a wide range of voters participate.

We get it. Only Federal Laws count now.... and only those which Liberals agree with. Progressives are now in a mindset that they get to pick and choose which laws should be enforced... it's how they see the constitution as well.

 

Campaigns and polls call during the election cycle. I get the Texas law part. But I really don't see a problem with a phone call. If campaigns can call why shouldn't interest groups or voter registration drives. Maybe there is some conflict of interest they are trying to
avoid.

But when you go in the voting booth, a phone call isn't going to cast your vote.

I take this O'Keefe dude with a grain of salt - he's been shown to be untrustworthy in the past - but as usual the typical crop of liberals rush in derailing the topic with emotionally-charged allegations (ex. "he with white supremacists) - which makes me think they're a little afraid of him being right. (Even a broken clock is right twice a day.) If he's doctored the evidence then it should be easy to point it out right? So whether or not he hangs out with Robert Byrd's former brethren is irrelevent.

Not to mention it's probably the same liberals in this thread who've take everything from Michael Moore or Dan Rather as god's truth.

 

You think peasants like Ted Nugent and O'Keefe have "fans"? Or even a "base"? If this "base" were so significant, why haven't they won power yet? Perhaps the Democrats should stop pointing fingers, and look at themselves in the mirror. If the law's absurd to you, then just pass an amendment in the State Legislature of Texas. It's not that Texas is 'all red', or that being Republican will stop them from expanding the political process, which could only strengthen our political process.

But you simply cannot refute law just because it inconveniences you! This is more proof that the Democratic Party is unelectable, unaccountable. A bunch of dictating bureaucrats who simply want to stomp on the opposition, rather than govern.
