LMAO...For you so-called Christians, get a clue: Matthew 7:1 - - - Updated - - - Lol...Is that you, Walter Mitty?
"I won't force you to do what I want unless you don't do what I want" isn't really much different from "I'll force you to do what I want" lol. I don't care if they hate non-whites, non-straights, or non-Christians - they should be able to refuse service. No matter if they sell to the public.
I do. http://m.washingtonpost.com/local/u...5dbf52-9b36-11e3-975d-107dfef7b668_story.html You know more abouth Catholicism then the pope huh? He won't work at a gay wedding. You going to force him and dictate his religion to him too?
Well now you are talking about freedom and that won't fly. I think in the south after Jim Crowe it had to be forced because of the first mover problem in the "let the market sort them out" for the market to work. What do you think about that? - - - Updated - - - It isn't about gays either. Doesnt even mention them. It just says you can't be sued for practicing your religious beliefs. They already have this protection from lawsuits brought by the state.
You could also make the argument that discriminating against another person based on religion is a crime.
Title VII say's that discrimination is illegal. If you discriminate, that's a violation of law and as such a crime.
Why couldn't gays and lesbians just choose other bakers? Whats with all the (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing and moaning?
Hell....all I have to do is post a fact some member here does not like and I am vilified!! LOL!!! AboveAlpha
No, with regard to religion, it's an unconstitutional law and not applicable. You are wrong about Title You will notice religion and religious practice is a protected class by not only the First Amendment to the Constitution as an inalienable right but also protected by TitleVII. Alas LGBT is simply not there. That puts them in the same category as folks with red hair or thick mustaches and bushy eyebrows.
The Constitution says discrimination is A-OK when not performed by government. You got the least little bit of a clue as to which law is superior?
Yes, America needs to teach people like you that it's okay to disagree, and that just because you're completely wrong doesn't mean you're loved. Sometimes you're just not. That's right. The sexual deviants have to grow up and recognize that "no" means "no", and tough (*)(*)(*)(*) for them if they don't like it. "No". It's something adults deal with all the time, like in "no, you can't keep your money, King Obama wants to steal it", for example. You're absolutely right. When the sexual deviants grow up and realize other people not only aren't going to like them, but don't have to, there will no longer be a need for unconstitutional laws interfering with the natural right of one human to say "no" to another, like in "no, my anus is not your playground, and will never be". And if their anus is off limits, so too is their place of business, if they wish it to be so. Why do you prefer slavery to freedom?
Look, it's real simple. If you don't want to deal with gays just hang a big framed picture of Fred Phelps in your store. There's nothing illegal about that. And you'll soon go out of business because nobody will deal with you any more. Gay or not. Besides you won't be able to conduct any business from the hospital, which is where the Hell's Angels will put you, if you're lucky.
So. You were happy when the Courts ruled in Plessy-v-Ferguson that blacks could be banned from drinking white water. Good for you. Americans recognize when laws violate the Constitution by understanding the Constitution, not by waiting for a bunch of guys in black dresses to make a political statement.
I am sorry for that. Sometimes we parents do some really wrong things. This topic overall is an interesting one. Look at all of the anger and hatred from both sides. This is what happens when rights collide. I have not yet made up my mind but I am inclined to say that once a business is open for business than serve those who want to be served. Serve with grace. Serve with dignity. And serve with humility. Accept that our lives will be messy and complicated from time to time. I seldom watch television. But I bought Amazon Prime and tried out a few of the shows. I enjoyed two seasons of Grimm. But the show that had had the biggest impact on me is Glee. I have watched three seasons and I empathize with each characters' struggles, foibles, failures and successes. As you probably know there are boys with boys and girls with girls. And of course boys with girls as well. As I "got to know" each character I accepted them as they were instead of how I wished them to be. I hope for them to resolve their difficulties and to mature into successful men and women. The show is a microcosm of life. We should do what we can to be the best we can. If god exists I am sure she would love each and every one of us. Even the Democrats. But it is sure darned hard for me to.
Agreed. No parody of the bigots, no matter how outrageous, can exceed the idiocy of the true bigot. And that makes Poes impossible to identify with any certainty.
Should a gay print shop owner be forced to print signs for the Westboro Baptist Church anit gay rally?
Never could understand how Baptists can Evangelize on about Love and Forgiveness and turn the other cheek and the moment they run into any issue that is contrary to their ideology they are all like..."YOU WILL BURN IN HELL!!" AboveAlpha
