With no one else on the ballot, state media reported Monday that supreme leader Kim Jong Un was not only elected to the highest legislative body in North Korea, he won with the unanimous approval of his district, which had 100 percent turnout.
North Koreans went to the polls on Sunday to approve the new roster of deputies for the Supreme People's Assembly, the country's legislature. The vote, more a political ritual than an election by Western standards, is generally held once every five years.
Though results for the other seats in the assembly had not yet been announced, North Korea's media quickly reported Kim had won in his district — located on the symbolic Mount Paekdu — without a single dissenting ballot.
In the previous elections, 687 deputies were chosen. This is first time the election had been held since Kim inherited power after the death of his father, Kim Jong Il, in 2011.
"This is an expression of all the service personnel and people's absolute support and profound trust in supreme leader Kim Jong Un as they single-mindedly remain loyal to him," the state-run Korean Central News Agency said.
Voters in the election have no choice who to vote for — there is only one candidate's name on the ballot for each district. Instead, they have the choice of voting yes or no, and according to official accounts virtually all choose yes. North Korea also typically puts turnout nationwide at over 99 percent.

North Korean leader unanimously elected to highest legislative body in the country in vote that had 100% turnout.
We should add that one citizen voted NO but he was shoot & buried 1 hour later :deadhorse:
The world sits quietly while horror rules N. Korea.
Shame on all of us !!!!!

Comrade Soetoro is enraged with jealosy and envy to know there is a leader out there doing what he wishes he could do. Barry and Kim are poisonous peas in the same communist pod.

I'm pretty sure Obama is a raging capitalist and oligarch, not a communist.

Please explain the alleged similarities between Barrack Obama and Kim Jong Un.

Are you one of those people who thinks that a parking ticket is "tyranny"?

I heard they had 2 options

    option 1: vote "yes"
    option 2: vote "no"

People who wanted to vote "no" had to vote in a different vote booth.
It hit my 8 'o clock news. I kid you not.

No. But I KNOW that the absolute control of Obamacare is tyranny. OH, lets not forget the gun control measure in Chairman Soetoro's budget is also tyranny. But I know you are fully aware of all this. Preaching to the choir.

They both spy on and monitor every single person in their country, (with Obama going beyond his own country as well).

They both assassinate whoever they feel like, including their own citizens, on a whim, with no charges, trial or any kind of due process whatsoever.

They both hold people in prison for their entire life, with no trial, or due process whatsoever, where they get tortured.

    etc.

I never ceased to be amazed by people who think they suffer like North Koreans. Unbelievable.

I care a great deal, because there have been 2.5 million murders by the North Korean state, and that is a conservative estimate based upon known incidents.

A country that is committing the equivalent of a Holocaust needs to be addressed.

I didn't say I personally suffer. Some other people do, at the hands of Obama.

How would you like to be one of the uncharged, untried people in Guantanamo Bay and spend the rest of your life there, never to see your family again?

You would kiss your leader's feet too if that's what it takes to have your own family, but unlike North Koreans, these captives didn't even get that choice. They got whisked away in the middle of the night and never even got to say goodbye.

It's not news if an election has one choice. Thus making this thread pointless.
Like I said, no one should care who is elected as leader when an election has one option on the paper.

Fairly obvious that the "news" here is not who won the election. It is how it was done.

Public forum, in "world views", has a thread on another countries tyranny.

Why don't you want this thread up? Makes you look sympathetic.

In all honesty, I do not see very many similarities between two myself, but for you to only notice skin color is very indicative of the way you think, Jeff.

Agreed, however that doesn't mean it isn't a good topic on a public forum....
