Well, Obama did say to Joe-the-plumber in 2008 that he wanted to redistribute wealth.

I'm 50 years old and have never received a government check.

Who are these people that are receiving these government handouts?

I'm paying far more in taxes than what I'm benefiting from (defense, highways, etc...).

Those hooked on government subsidies, poor or rich, had those welfare programs implemented by rich/elites, who used the government to give themselves (a small minority) an unfair advantage. It's time people started realizing this.

where would his source of income be without national defense, communications, transportation, utilities & etc?

that's naive, show me someone who doesn't pay any tax and i'll show you somebody that doesn't spend money

 

I never agreed to paying into these.

They are mandated handouts.

If I could opt out, I would. But I can't.

 

None of us did, neither did we agre to pay taxes, but it is needed.
We pay into those two programs and you will get your money back so stop whining.
The are are ways, be self employeed and you will not have to pay into either SS or Medicare, just don't whine that you get little or nothing when retirement comes about.

The US is becoming more like Europe, and that is a distinctly undesirable direction to be going.

The Taxcutter plan:

1. Leave veterans benefits alone. These are reasonable extensions of defense spending. Besides there are so few in the military this will never be a big component of the budget.
2. For programs that have their own taxes (SS, Medicare, Medicaid) benefits are untouched until the recipient has collected benefits equal to what he/she has paid in over their lifetime then benefits drop to zero. For others, no contribution, no benefits.
3. For everything else. All benefits go to zero immediately.

No exceptions. Rich or poor – no matter.

That plan should get transfer payments to a more reasonable level.

 

The majority of taxes are not needed! Slash spending and cut taxes.

The money I payed into SS has already been spent.

I will get more out of my 401K than I will ever get out of a SS check.

If I could opt out of SS and forfeit all that I paid into it, I would.

 

I just can't imagine why Democrats would want to replace the white majority with Hispanics from down South when they are so apparently so Christian.

Seems like you're forgetting about fairly large groups who don't pay federal taxes. I wonder why?

What mistake? This thread is about federal taxes, and that's what I commented on. You attempted to bring up local and state taxes for some reason. I'll chock this up as another error on your part related to never reading a thread before commenting on it.
