So were the founding fathers. If he's on the opposite side of the Feds and Harry Reid, then he must be right.
there is a park about a block form me, wonder if they would mind if I set my farm up on it, don't want to use my own land, but if I could use public land to make me some profit, that would be ok wouldn't it
I wouldn't say I back him, but the government's actions do look shady to me. And not only their tactics last week. Bundy's family's cattle grazed on that land from 1877-1998. It was then that the state of Nevada sold that land to the federal govt, at the request of the BLM. The BLM wanted that land so that it could protect the wildlife habitat of the desert tortoise. So the reason it is federal land is because of a turtle, and their interest in protecting it. Is this really legitimate? I'm not so sure...
"Who has he stolen from, exactly? Mother Nature?" you are either hugely ignorant or just flame baiting. go away until you learn about things like facts.
Okay, that's was just the whole point of your thread. I wonder how much Reid stands to gain by turning Gold Butte into a wildlife mitigation area. It must be a fortune. Yeah, yeah, speculation is meaningless. Come back when the Chinese actually do reinstate the plan and change the proposed site to Gold Butte instead of Laughlin, an area that isn't even anywhere near Gold Butte. Well, that's good because its how a forum usually works. I always feel sorry for people who come here to "win"-- always sounds like they have something missing in their real lives and need to look online for self-esteem. Don't come here to win; come here to learn.
"Mitigation" is like trading carbon credits or other environmental scams: For polluting in one place, or in one way, you make up for it in another place or way. Loughlin and Gold Butte needn't be contiguous or even nearby for It to work.
That's your idea of a scam? How would you protect wildlife more "honestly"? I haven't seen anything that would suggest ENN is backing out because of issues concerning Gold Butte. Environmentalists have had their eye on Gold Butte long before this standoff and long before there were ever an solar farms in Nevada. I assuming that's the reason why the BLM started buying up ranching permits in the nineties. I was just reading that First Solar has proposed building a solar farm in the Dry Lake Zone, but the author fails to make any real explanations about why Gold Butte must be mitigated in order to build it. http://libertyunyielding.com/2014/0...oise-chinese-solar-farm-sponsored-harry-reid/
You need to lighten up. Points was a joke. Nobody goes on an anonymous forum to collect points and "win". And to learn? Come on, if someone wants to learn, a forum like this isnt the place to be. No offense to the forum, but although people pick up a bit here and there, this isnt really education, its entertainment. If you want education, instead of an hour bantering here you should spend that hour in a real book or in other areas of the web. As for Reid, he is making a fortune.
I agree he is no prize but to expose liberals in government who are doing this to so many ranchers around the country its worth the fight.
Theres nothing honest about the BLM forcing grazing contracts then suspending the amount of cattle a rancher can have by up to 90% thereby forcing them out of business. If the feds wanted their land and the ranchers land empty they should have bought them out instead of forcing them into foreclosure. 52 other ranchers went out of business in Clark County. Bundy is the sole survivor. The BLM started a war to get rid of him. Its not all just a coincidence.
I'm plenty lightened up when I want to be, and I've played many roles on this forum in the past, from moderator to troll. Now I've decided to take on the role of a serious poster. I simply look to root out the truth in every topic in which I participate. I don't pledge allegiance to any sides, and I change my mind regularly when new facts develop within any given topic. Oh, you'd be surprised. I actually learn a lot through this site because I'll read an OP and then go research the topic through google before posting a reply. I ignore members who I know have nothing of substance to say and specifically look for posts by members who I respect, regardless of political affiliations. You get what you want out of this forum. I come in with an open mind and consider all viewpoints equally. I often see angles on topics on this forum that I never would have thought of on my own. I've been here long enough, though, to know what you're talking about. Many, perhaps most, come here with a closed mind with no intention of considering the validity of any other viewpoints except to mock them. If that's what you're interested in, than yes, you won't learn anything here.
Link this, please. From what I've read on the topic, the BLM bought up the grazing permits in the early nineties. If the land is owned by the feds, I don't see any dishonesty in telling people they can no longer use it for grazing because they want to use it for something else. Of course it's not a coincidence.
Sorry I took so long, relocating that was no joke. nuk nuk. Not admissible in court Im sure. http://www.bizpacreview.com/2014/04...-about-why-ranchers-support-hero-bundy-112751
Facts: The land was purchased by the United States government in the early 1800's. The land belonged to the BLM for the longest time. Bundy and his family paid their grazing fees up to 1993, after Cliven's father passed away (*)(*)(*)(*) started getting off the charts. Bundy was breaking the rules of his lease that entire time by actually having too many cattle on the land. When his contract was up for renewel the BLM put in a stipulation that Bundy only have 150 units of rotating cattle on the land to preserve the habitat of the tortoise that is about to be on the endangered species list. The cattle were overgrazing the land and causing problems for the tortoises, also trampling them and their nests. Bundy didn't like the new rules so he let the lease on the land lapse. At that time Clark County picked up the lease and retired the grazing rights until they can repopulate the tortoise on the land. Once the lease expired Bundy was asked to get his cattle off of the land. He didn't. Instead, he let his cattle roam about with no restriction. This case went to court twice, and a federal judge ruled that Bundy had to move his cattle. For two decades the BLM and Clark county tried to get Bundy to move his cattle, and follow the letter of the law. Bundy actively refused. The government has, literally, tried everything to work with him. He has absolutely, steadfastedly refused to move his cattle no matter what the folks have requested. The fact is, it's not Bundy's (*)(*)(*)(*)ing land and he never had any claim to it outside of his lease. Which ironically his father maintained and followed without any issue at all. The feds never went on his land, ever. They went on their land that they leased to Clark County. Then all of the "militias" came and gathered. There is even a picture of one of the militia snipers aiming at BLM agents when they are completely unarmed and working. They didn't run in raid style and start tearing people apart. They let him know LONG in advance that this was going to happen, and gave him two (*)(*)(*)(*)ing decades to even up. He told them to go (*)(*)(*)(*) themselves. The lease of the land was $3,300 for the entire year, and Bundy wouldn't pay it. Bundy is wrong, I understand people hate the gubmint on this forum, but find a new front man. Bundy is a piece of (*)(*)(*)(*) that is going to get what he deserves. The gubmint is going to seize every liquidable asset he has and encumber that ranch to the point where his great grand kids will be in debt.
Lets see this purchase agreement from the early 1800's Lets see this picture of a sniper rifle aimed at unarmed BLM agents while "working" That's enough for starters
No sir you are wrong Bundy is a true Christian white American Patriot man. He owns that land because he has been there the longest. I am glad the militia is protecting him we all know the government wants him dead, because he knows things about Obama. Reid wants his land so he can make his son rich. Why is the government trying to take away a Christian man's right to make a living.
I realize you are trying hard to be clever but, ironically, this is as close to the truth as you've ever gotten. NO American citizen should be subject to Gestapo police state tactics and that includes Cliven Bundy, a man who has made this mess because he refuses to deal with the BLM. But since he's a "Christian white American" (as you point out) that makes him easy to hate and wish the worst for him at every turn just because he has likely never given Barry Hussein Obama a campaign donation. Whereas if he had just crossed over our border from Mexico (law breaker) and got in on this IRS scam with fake i.d.s that cost taxpayers billions (law breaker again, parasite) and filled our school with non English speakers (at great expense to the school district having to include bilingual education) and used the local ER like it was his own HMO (law breaker, parasite) I imagine you'd have nothing to say about this. In fact, I know it! But that's how hypocrites are.
But why is the govt even acting here? Their entire purpose comes down to this turtle. And I'm not buying it. If the govt has a legit interest in taxing Bundy out of business, then I can understand. But everyone just automatically buys the turtle story? Without the turtle, one can ask, wth is the govt doing there? Imo, the govt's entire case rests on a turtle really being endangered. Otherwise, they are just messing with this guy out in the desert for the hell of it.
The nobility of England said the same things about the Founding Fathers. Don't get me wrong. I'm not elevating Bundy. I'm suggesting that little things like this is what preceded the bigger things that led to the colonies throwing off their shackles.
No wonder Harry has been going so far as to call them terrorists. He must be sweating over what this shows about him. Hopefully the Republicans can find a decent candidate to challenge him this time. Edit: Wait, Harry isn't up for re-election this term is he
Trespass is a misdemeanor................however he may have had a perscriptive easement to use the land.
