Republican lawmaker wishes for those on death row to be 'fed to lions'

If you want to get all blood'n'guts kill'em all Old Testament on these bad boys - then go right ahead. But you can't expect anyone to not laughing when you start thumping the Bible and prattling on about jumpin' Jaysus and so on and so forth. And aside from all the hyper-ventilating machismo chest thumping tough guy thing, I mean, wouldn't you be even a wee bit embarrassed?

 

If you read your bible it is pretty clear that not only did God use the death penalty, God used it on a lot of totally innocent people. Of course if you believe in original sin none of the people and children God murdered were innocent but that is a topic for another discussion. Since Jesus and The Father are part of the same trinity it is clear Jesus would approve of the death penalty and probably would not have even required a trial.

 

Oh stop your fake outrage. The guy said he doesn't care how they are executed. Most people don't care. What they do care about is wackos who want to give a break to those who have committed the most heinous acts against people.

 

I was raised Catholic so I am unfamiliar with the whole smiting,smoting slaughtering everyone thang.But hey, if that's your idea of good times - have at it. I'll stick with the Jesuits and Pope Frankie. You might like the Saudi head chopping scenario. Quick and expeditious.

You know that the scum in question here, Clayton Lockett did know that he put on a show for the victim's family until he got to hell and had a laugh with the other thugs that were boiling in oil. Clayton will be wishing for the torment that he never experienced now that he knows real everlasting pain.

Setting aside the fact the lawmaker never wished for, much less proposed, such a thing, gladiatorial games would make for a much better return on our tax dollars.

Don't put words in my mouth. I didn't say I approved. Just responding to your post about would Jesus approve. And the answer is------ wait for it ------yes. Since I don't approve guess it makes me a better Christian even though I am agnostic.

 

According to the christian new testament, Jesus preached forgiveness. He forgave an adulteress who deserved the death penalty according to biblical law and didn't have her put to death. "He who hath not sinned, cast the first stone". He also said to love your enemies and to turn the other cheek, and most importantly, he who lives by the sword dies by the sword.

 

I think its safe to say he wished for it since he brought up all of these methods. Again, plausible deniability. I paraphrased for the sake of space on the title of the thread. No manipulation was used, I posted his quote and the link in full.

Throwing people to lions is unconstitutional. Its cruel and unusual punishment, sorry. I said before I was for the death penalty in extreme cases, proved beyond a reasonable doubt.
