http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/05/...lumn-take-nauseating-michael-sam-kiss-off-tv/ So apparently the leader of Tea Party Nation believes the kiss between Michael Sam and his boyfriend should be pulled from TV coverage. It's interesting because I thought the tea party was supposed to only be about small government, less taxes, and less regulation. For a group of people that scream all day about freedom, they sure do have a problem with others expressing that right. It's sad that they haven't figured out how to use a certain piece of technology called a remote to change the damn channel if it offends their precious sensibilities. I know a few are going to barge in on this thread with the "but, but, it's only about less government, blah, blah, blah." People who identify with the TP movement need to own up to the facts. This group is not just about fiscal policy. It has a very well and alive fascist streak of social conservatives running it these days. Your canned excuses won't work anymore. The TP has become authoritarian.
Of course, they're fine with government intrusion when it comes to us pesky gays. Wow- just read the article- let's post the whole thing:
Is having moral standards a crime now? The Tea Party does want more fiscal responsibility and smaller government. But that doesnt mean its the only issue worth considering. But since the left only cares about reconstructing soddom and gamorrah i suppose we are bound to cross paths once in a while.
There's Mac completely contradicting the libertarian apologists for the Tea Party who claim it is NOT about social issues, but ONLY abot fiscal conservatism. Thanks, Mac....we knew they were lying.
Pretty amusing statement you make since he didn't demand the government do anything. You are simply angry because he doesn't agree with you. He never said the government should do something about it. That's the difference between liberals and the tea party.
Of course we knew they were lying. - - - Updated - - - Then how do you think he can accomplish his goal?
Where did Mac7 say all tea partiers think exactly the same? Oh that's right, nowhere. Only you are making that false assumption. - - - Updated - - - Petitioning the stations, boycotting their commercials. You know the capitalist way not the dictatorship way liberals embrace.
But if we boycott something, it's fascist in your eyes. So typical. Oh, and good luck with your boycott- not gonna do a thing.
That is a poor argument. Those who truly want smaller government, call for individuals to live morally without government intrusion. They do not want big government to legislate morality. Small government advocates generally want laws based on the protection of individual freedoms and rights.
Where did I say that? Back up your false claim. - - - Updated - - - I'll say it again, where did this man claim he wanted the government to step in? Show us.
I was on his side on countless threads and posts on this very forum until the news about his Oprah reality tv show... Sad but this guy has been scripting this drama for a while all to push the agenda. I was wrong.
And in this free country, people are free to disapprove of homosexuality, so take your own advice and deal with it. And I agree, I wish the Tea Party and the Gay Agenda would both disappear and shut the hell up.
YOU debate him, tex. Soon as you Tea Partyers hash out if you're "just smaller Government"....or "smaller Government, except for using Big Government to impose fundamentalist Christianity".... get back to us.
So not everyone fits so neatly into the carefully organized world view boxes you've constructed in your narrow mind. Oh my God, someone doesn't fit the stereotype or the narrative! What now?!
No, we're just tired of seeing you is all. You can be gay all you want. Hell, you can even 'marry' each other. But asking most people to accept you as anywhere near normal is a bridge too far. I'll give you legal equality.(and help you defend it)...but to think that I'll ever view two of you hooking up as equal to the life my wife and I have built....LOL...that will never happen. Ever.
IMO, if a poll was taken about the made for TV "kiss" there would be far more who find it inappropriate than not. So, I don't think this is just a Tea Party issue.
Youre a hypocrite. You guys single out groups of people all the time and do everything you can to ruin them socially and financially. But, when someone singles out a group of people that you belong to, its all of the sudden unfair and unjustified. You guys created the landscape, now enjoy the comfort it brings to you. I find your outrage and squirming discomfort quite satisfying. As for all the gays in the world that arent rude, judgmental and intolerant pieces of (*)(*)(*)(*), I feel bad for them that they are being treated the way they are because of the loud mouthed hypocritical bullies that represent them.
ONE MORE TIME- where did I say this guy could not say what he said? Show me now- or apologize for lying. And I'm not afraid of some idiot on a TEA Party website.
My post didnt have anythingh to do with you saying someone couldnt say something, so no I do not owe you an apology. Is that seriously your daily goal, to see how many members of society you can get to spologize to you for how badly society has victimized you? Get over yourself. Also, how do you know the guy is an idiot? I would wager him to be much more intelligent than you. I assume you think anyone that doesnt share your same values and beliefs is an idiot. Guess who I think the idiot is? Just guess.
Haha! You are hilarious. But you're right about one thing- Bigoted people are idiots. You're damn right about that. And I could not care less what you think.
