Six mortar shells have been fired at a small town in Russia in the Rostov region killing one citizen and leaving two more injured. This is in addition to the shelling of Russian border guards and refugees trying to cross the border into Russia. Lavrov promised heavy consequences.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The Russian Foreign Ministry has called the shelling “an obviously aggressive act” on Ukraine’s part and warned it could have “irreversible consequences” with Kiev holding full responsibility for the provocation.
Bsah07nCIAAuPTo.jpg On Saturday a vehicle, carrying a squad of Russian border guards, came under fire from the Ukrainian side at the frontier between Russia and Ukraine.

On June 28, mortar shells from Ukraine hit Russian territory, damaging a building at the Gukovo border checkpoint and creating potholes in the ground in two villages.

The week before, on June 20, the Russian Novoshakhtinsk checkpoint in the Rostov region was shelled by mortars, Russia’s Border Service said.

mortars are hard to trace back to the ones using them,[IMG] do to there some distance away and both sides use the same weapons.

I hope Ukraine is finally shooting back at the aggressor and taking the fight to the enemy...unfortunately it's far more likely to have been a russian false flag ops. You would not put it past KGB thug Putin, would you?

Russia is going to investigate it thoroughly before reacting because Poroshenko denied responsibility...which of course is to be expected. The intent is to accuse the Freedom Fighters of provocative acts. They in turn responded by saying that Poroshenko's accusations have become commonplace. There have been individual acts committed by commanders who according to Poroshenko were not under his orders. They could have been committed by the National Guard Nazi contingent and Russia has been making a list of them and gathering information for a future war crimes tribunal.

As of yet the arrest warrants haven't gone out for them, other than for the Governor billionaire 'Evil' Kolomoisky and the former defense minister for supplying and using illegal weapons on civilians. They are also suspected of being behind the hacking and burning of civilians in Odessa as well as the burnings and atrocities in Mariupol.

and it wouldn't be beyond belief that the russians inside the ukraine did this themselves trying to draw Russia into the conflict...it's been done before, germany attacked its own border outpost before attacking poland in ww2...

So let me get this straight. Ukraine didn't attack Russia when Russia was illegally invading Crimea and killing Ukrainian civilians and soldiers. Ukraine didn't attack Russia when illegally annexed Crimea. Ukraine didn't attack Russia when Russia was sending thousands of soldiers, agents, and weapons into Eastern Ukraine to incite a false Rebellion. But now that Ukraine is finally getting a foothold in the east and is hammering the rebels, your telling me that THIS is the time Ukraine decided to attack Russia? And only In the form of a few mortar shells and not something large scale??? Jesus tap dancing Christ lol.

Also there is no information whatsoever as to where or who it was that was firing these shells. For all you know it was the rebels doing it in hopes that Russia will react and invade Ukraine, again. For the third time this year. They are losing and they know it. Do you really put it past them to try something like that? That's what I would do if I was that rebel commander what's the Russian KGP agents name? Igor something wasn't it?

Most of these replies belong in the Conspiracy Theory forum. Geez, get a grip .... all Jeannette did was post a story.

The fact is that Russia has tried to get the OSCE involved on the border, but it has refused. It is not Russia's fault that there can be no independent confirmation of this event. As it is, Russia has not jumped the gun on this. Let's see how this plays out.

IMO, Russia, or any nation, has a right to ensure that violence doesn't spill over its border. If Poroshenko wants to have a civil war, he better make damn sure he keeps it in Ukraine.

Your right! This thread, and all the rest of Jeannette's threads belong in the conspiracy section.

Russia has the right to ensure violence doesn't spill over its border??? Russia is the one who started this violence. If anything the fighting should be taking place on the Russian side of the border.

I said the REPLIES belong in the conspiracy section, not the thread.

Of course, I'm sure you'll be right along providing irrefutable proof of Russia being responsible for the US sponsored coup in Kiev.

That's a conspiracy section reply if ever there was one. Almost as whacky as the OP.

False Flag attack by Stalinists in Ukraine, trying to give Russia an excuse to invade.

Our president is NSA thug spying on Germany. So what? He wants to catch Mr. Snowden, who helped the world to wake up. Unfortunately, he is helping Poroshenko.

I doubt the Freedom Fighters would kill their own people. I know though the Nazis and mafia criminals running the Kiev government would. It was proven when the snipers shot from a building they occupied in Kiev and hit protesters and police alike. It is going to be investigated, and I'm sure the Russians will collect enough proof to convince an international tribunal.

Russia certainly has a plan. There were numerous provocative measures done by EU, USA and the junta to drag Russia into military action inside Ukraine, but Putin did not take the bait. This is a small fish by comparison. Russians will do what and when it is necessary to do to help Ukraine. Wait a little.

Oh so then Russia invaded Crimea and killed thousands of soldiers and civilians? And here I thought they were invited in to free them from the junta? Interesting! :confuse:

I think Russia is preparing itself for a world war which it sees as inevitable so it's not going to react with arms until then. As far as I can tell, it doesn't want to get entangled in Ukraine and have it turn into another Syria. Unlike the Nazis and mafia oligarchs in charge, they do respect human life, and especially the lives of their own. Over half of Ukraine are either Russians, or have an affinity towards Russia because of the Russian Church.

What the Freedom Fighters should do is bring the war to them. They did hit the Nazi National Guard contingent hard and killed over fifty men, and right now they have a few hundred entrapped in an airport. Most of the non Nazi Ukrainians did what they usually do and surrendered...either to go home, or to join the Freedom Fighters. None of them have any desire to kill their own people

Did I say Russia was responsible for what happened in Kiev? (You said US sponsored coup which is just more and more reason why this should be in the conspericy section but, whatever) no I said that Russia was responsible for the rebellion in eastern Ukraine. Do you deny this?

Conspericy section. In fact. This is a formal request to the Moderators to force Jeannette to move this thread and any other ones he creates concerning this matter to the conspericy section.

    - - - Updated - - -

Do you know what a junta is?

    - - - Updated - - -

That's right, except I didn't say they killed thosands of people. Of course the kidnapings and murders are still occurring in Crimea so the number will continue to rise. The junta thing is getting old .
