It seems that the Democrats hold the key to reelection success...promote homosexuality, illegal aliens rights, Obamacare and loosen up on recreational drugs use. Basically everything that the Republicans are against.

Now that the older conservative generation is dying off and the young people and illegal alien population is on the rise, the Democrats are well loved by those groups.

Do you see any hope for the Republicans in the foreseeable future? If so what would turn things around for them when it comes to the White House?

Something big will come and hopefully it'll be the end of those asshats.

There is NO hope for the Republicans as long as they continue to alienate blacks, browns, women, gays, etc. Also, as long as the Tea Party and the Evangelicals control the Party, the Republican Party is seen as the Party of stupid, bigoted, people.

Obama is the best hope for the Republicans. America is experiencing Obama fatigue and they will throw out the democrats when Obama leaves office. Then we will have Republicans posting ludicrous posts saying the Democrats are dead until the Republicans screw up as bad as the Democrats did. Then we will have ludicrous posts saying the Republicans are dead. This is the way of things, the pendulum swings back and forth.

Obama is the best hope for the Republicans, which is sad because it means they can't field a candidate that is worth a (*)(*)(*)(*), they just hope that enough people will be fed up with the other team that their guy can come in and run things pretty much the same way.

Well, that is true enough. But if you look further, this is the only explanation as to why Obama is now our President. Obama just didn't have the chops to be President and he never will. He is President because he is not Bush. That was enough. The next President will not be Obama, and that is pretty much what the electorate cares about.

I very much agree. It's really a sad system we have. It would be nice if we had someone who was actually worth a (*)(*)(*)(*) as our nations leader (or hell in any role really).

The Republicans need two things. First, a set of policies. It isn't too far fetched to label them the party of no. That needs to change.

Perhaps more difficult will be to get the king makers, the Republican establishment, the back room boys, whatever you want to call them to accept the fact that appealing the (another cliche, but again largely true) angry old white men is a dying strategy. They need a presidential candidate with much wider appeal.

Many of my GOP friends say that is going against their principles, but I think that is what will need to be done to win.

I could not believe when Obama won his second term. That is where the true soul searching should be aimed by the GOP.

These things seem to come in waves. The 'center' has shifted to the right, but as it shifts back to the left, and Republicans seem more moderated, I think they'll start appealing to more young people.

Despite being a liberal American, I don't want to see the Democrats dominate.

How about people using their brains for once? Obama has made a mess of the Middle East. Half of them hate him. He has turned Iraq over to the worst terror group on the planet. His attempts at Syria is a mess and so is Libya. The Russians are doing anything they want, knowing Obama will do little but mouth off. He has all but told Iran if you want to help Iraq, your welcome to it.

Then we all know what he has done with our immigration problem. We have a flood of illegals coming in her, not only from Mexico and Central America, but all over the globe. Heaven knows how many are terrorist, coming across an almost unguarded border. We have millions flooding in that we will be supporting for decades. Obama is on his way of racking up a 20 trillion debt. If people still vote for Democrats in the next election, they need their head examined.

CBP report shows entire world exploiting open US border

The report reveals the apprehension numbers ranging from 2010 through July 2014. It shows that most of the human smuggling from Syria and Albania into the U.S. comes through Central America. The report also indicates the routes individuals from North Africa and the Middle East take into the European Union, either to illegally migrate there or as a possible stop in their journey to the United States. The data are broken down further into the specific U.S. border sectors where the apprehensions and contact occurred.

Among the significant revelations are that individuals from nations currently suffering from the world’s largest Ebola outbreak have been caught attempting to sneak across the porous U.S. border into the interior of the United States. At least 71 individuals from the three nations affected by the current Ebola outbreak have either turned themselves in or been caught attempting to illegally enter the U.S. by U.S. authorities between January 2014 and July 2014.

As of July 20, 2014, 1,443 individuals from China were caught sneaking across the porous U.S. border this year alone, with another 1,803 individuals either turning themselves in to U.S. authorities at official ports of entry, or being caught attempting to illegally enter at the ports of entry. This comes amid a massive crackdown by Chinese authorities of Islamic terrorists in the Communist nation.

Twenty-eight individuals from Pakistan were caught attempting to sneak into the U.S. this year alone, with another 211 individuals either turning themselves in or being caught at official ports of entry. I think people are going to recognize that the libertarian's time is coming on the federal level since most Americans (and particularly young Americans) are fiscally conservative and socially liberal and it's only libertarians (who identify with the Republican party) that are offering that. While I'm a social conservative myself I realize that the Republicans can only tolerate so many losses before they finally start acknowledging the libertarian wing of the party.

I also don't think that this matters much in the long run because history has shown that social liberals can't function in the long run without fiscally "liberal" policies to subsidize them. The next generation of conservatives is already here, they just haven't grown up yet.

Much of this is merely partisan opinion. Anyhow, what is really important is that although Obama's approval rating is fairly low in the lower 40's, his political opponents have much lower approval. This whole lawsuit thing isn't helping either. Yeah, people are very unhappy with Washington right now, and Obama's approval numbers show it. Those house/GOP approval ratings though? Shockingly abysmal! Therefore, people who claim that Obama's approval rating shows that all democrats are in trouble are quite mistaken. The approval of the Democrats is easily higher than that of the GOP among Americans. It's just true. Who can beat Hillary from the right? Really?

Only because the Liberals have done a great job of planting that thought in people's mind. If we don't want illegals flooding in, we hate Brown people. If we say Dems are holding Blacks back, we hate Blacks. If we are against late term abortion, which there is really one excuse for, we have a war on women. If we don't believe in gay marriage, but do believe in legal partnerships, we hate gays. You have it all figured out.

Well if they want more of the same as Obama gave us, they deserve everything we get. In just his last two years he has made a mess of everything. If people can't see that they are awfully stupid. We are looked down on from most of the world now.

True, but Obama isn't running for president again.
And none of us want to trade a dumbass for an (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*). Put forth a better candidate than Romney or mccain

I dunno if I agree Hooz.

"The Obama Economy" is a righty media concept.

All young people care about is the economy getting better, not who is blaming the other guys for it.

What you just said is all true. I didn't think Obama would win another term. That spoke volumes. But the important thing is as long as the established set of principles are out of touch and there is no change in sight, it feel it will be at least till 2028 for a shot at the White House.

I believe it is the republican controlled House that is pushing immigration reform, but by and large, not pandering to the same people that will vote for the democrats anyway doesn't harm the GOP.

I wouldn't be so confident. Since when do illegal aliens vote enough to swing an election?

Well, the same people who re-elected Obama also re-elected a GOP majority in the House. Nonetheless, independents (i.e. "Swing Voters") are polling that their dissatisfaction with the PPACA is their major issue and they are breaking for the GOP in the mid-terms in the same polls. I would say that possibly picking up the Senate and getting a larger share of the House could be construed as hopeful signs for them. The democratic obsession with Hillary "What does it matter....just buy my book" Clinton certainly is a very hopeful sign that the democrats will implode when they do not have an unchallenged incumbent to run for WH.

His policies will follow who ever is elected, especially his immigration and foreign policies. He couldn't get them through without the Democratic leadership. Like Bush, Republicans were blamed
