The 'one world' advocating UN does meddle too much in MY affairs. They have no right to breath MY sovereign air. Neither do the world court and any other socialist loving abomination. If 'they' want to dictate to others how to live let them do it in a country where the people have already been beat down and molded to be good little socialists. Good socialists can accept cameras everywhere, they love em', and don't care if the gestapo has free rein to 'protect' them while they are being violated. Let the good socialist citizens give up personal property too. If they get caught with anything more scary than a bb gun, well then that makes then instant felons. If not so tragic it would be funny and in all seriousness I do feel sorry for my little socialist brothers and sisters. However even though I ranted, I do I agree with the (UN) this time, and in part...lol...but remain convinced the world would be better off without the UN. Our police do not need to be militarized. They are public servants not warriors. reva
Since they are so horrified by the events in Fergueson and have already drawn a verdict perhaps they should stop accepting the money from the US that is helping fund them. Since we pay a measly 22% they shouldnt have a problem with that. I'm sure the other countries that actually pay like Japan Germany France and England would happily pay more. So why dont the English folk in this thread take a stand for once and demand action!! Demand England pay there current share AND the US's 22%.. That will really show us! As far as "Peace keeping missions" we pay 28.3%... Come on UN refuse it! i'm sure your other member nations would have no issue flipping the bill and taking a stand against the evils of Darren Wilson.
We have a justice system matched by no other, too bad Brown didn't submit to it for the crime he committted.
You mean like the Black community and the entire spectrum of leftwing race-hustlers and the Left-biased MSM 'alleged' that the police officer . . . oh wait, no . . . they did not 'allege' anything. There was never any doubt that the Left tried, condemned, and convicted said officer and then effectively demanded a life time or imprisonment or even death (which is really cool for leftwingers to intimate that they are FOR the death penalty) before discovering any meaningful facts.
You're saying that everyone, in the entire spectrum of the left, demanded a life time imprisonment or death for Darren Wilson without trial? That's seems doubtful. Darren Wilson is innocent of a crime until convicted in a court of law. So is Michael Brown. Seems we're getting a little off topic though. Can we get back to bashing the U.N.?
The UN should have it's attention elsewhere, it's not like the rest of the world is in harmony right now. What an embarrassment.
No he committed it, the family confirmed it was him in the video. We have conclusive evidence. Now before he could be put in jail for it he would have faced the criminal justice system, he choose not to submit to it.
The police department confirmed it was Darren Williams that shot Brown to death. Confirming someone was at an incident isn't the same as proving they are guilty of a crime.
Yep, they did not confirm he shot Brown, it is not alledged, what they haven't done is state they have evidence he committed a crime nor produced any unlike Williams where we not only have conclusive the family and their attorney confirm it.
That we are debating whether that video is conclusive or not, demonstrates it isn't. In America, a man is innocent of a crime until proven guilty in a court of law.
I could not agree with your post in full and nearly not at all! No I am far from not Pro 'all cops'. Actually the reverse is more true. I am very anti-authority and pro take care of your own business. The police usually mucks things up so I never call them on purpose. In my misspent youth I spent many weekends in jail for fighting and shooting my guns at parties as did many of my friends. I know its not the smartest thing to do but thats what life is for ; to learn how not to be stupid. Back in the day Cops pulled me over as a matter of principle, lol. Yes I hated em but today I tolerate and respect most police. I think what makes most people mad at the police arent the protect and serve officers but rather its the aggressive officers with a 'we vs. them' attitude. That said, most police I have run into in the last ten years are true 'protect and serve types'. So we should use the power of our vote and pen to keep the good police that joined the force for the right reasons and to rid ourselves of those police who seem to be warriors and we citizens their foes! reva
Yes in a court of law in order to apply legal sanctions, the fact remains Brown committed a felony assault just prior to his death.
In a court of law, we would determine if he committed a crime. That court of law may apply legal sanctions and could assign him the legal status of a felon, should it find him guilty. Until a court makes that determination his status is innocent. He has not committed a felony. That you assume a court would find him guilty of a felony and that you wish I would join you in abandoning due process is irrelevant. In this country, you are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Were that not the case, many might wish to abandon due process with regard to Darren Wilson.
It's a fair criticism, and I agree with a lot of what you said. Most cops do a very hard job, very well and don't receive much appreciation for it. But I'd argue the problem isn't with a few bad apples. It's not that simple. The us vs them mentality is more than an individual case of confusion, it's a systemic one. It's evidenced in changes in training seminars, recruitment programs, directives coming from as high as the patriot act, the spreading of military weapons to police departments... it's bigger than good apples vs bad apples. Again, cops are just people. And most people want to do the right thing. The problem is, it's getting confusing as to what the right thing is. Even for the good apples. We need to be clear on what job we want cops to do. If folks frightened of gangs or terrorists want John Rambo on the street. If they say that with how they treat cops, what laws they support, who they elect to office, and what message they send those elected representatives... they're going to get him. And I think that's a mistake.
Why does the UN even exist anymore? What useful purpose do they serve. Shouldn't they stick to what they do best, placating tyrants and stealing money from US taxpayers. Does anyone take the very same organization that appointed Syria, Iran and Libya to its human rights commission seriously? No. And nobody should. It is way past the time that the United States defunded this completely corrupt and incompetent organization.
I agree. Policework is a lot like being a goalie on a soccer team; people often don't take notice of the work you do unless you are getting scored on. And even in this case we don't know if the officer simply used excessive force at this point.
