Obama knew of the Islamic State rise a year ago

According to specific intelligence daily briefings, Obama knew about the rise of the Islamic State a year ago and just last week Obama admitted that he didn't "have a strategy yet" in regards to ISIS.

What the heck has he been doing all year long?

How can you go a whole year and not have a strategy yet?

Obama probably forgot about it a minute the briefing was over... wait, who am I kidding... of course he forgot about it a minute the briefing was over.

 

It's not for me to defend the Kenyan, but does anyone believe that there's only one or two groups in that region who are trying to rise to warlord status? It's none of our business, and not in our interests to track all of them. ISIS is being attended to right now, and it won't be long before they're gone.
If you're so "on top" of all this, how 'bout you make up a list for us of all of the groups in Iraq, Syria and Libya that we "should" be dealing with?

Obama is the worst president this nation has ever seen. he doesn't care if we are attacked again or for the innocents that are being slaughtered, he is more worried that there is climate change and that we need to help transgenders feel at home in the military.

I watched Camerons speech yesterday. Its very scary when Brits sound tougher than American leaders. At least they've got a plan.

 

They seemed to be contained it was the IRAQI ARMY that had the numbers, superior weapons, the urban advantage to defend itself and the citizens and it fled abandoning the ammunition, supplies and weapons and many STILL were massacred that is NOT Obama's fault. Funny the Kurds managed to counter the threat since they FOUGHT with everything on the line ISIS gets into their territory many innocent people DIE. ISIS is not invincible it just needs people willing to stand and fight with our help and its working.

 

I rather think his unwillingness to just rush in and (*)(*)(*)(*) everything up like Bush did in Afghanistan and Iraq is the one unambiguously positive thing he's doing as president.

Saying "At least Cameron has a plan" is clearly implying that you think a plan is by definition better than no plan.

It isn't. A terrible plan is far worse than no plan at all.

This is a problem that wouldn't exist in the first place if the US hadn't blindly rushed into two stupid wars that led to little more than a sharp rise in terrorist recruitment figures. But some people will never learn from history.

Every single time the US invades another foreign nation to play world police, the argument of the terrorists is strengthened. If your recruitment spiel is "Rise up against the western imperialists who invade our country and kill our people!", the single best way to give them credibility toward their countrymen is to invade their country and kill their people.

You can't defeat terrorism with conventional military might. If you could, terrorism would never have existed throughout history.

If nobody ever managed to defeat terrorism by sheer military might before, what makes you think the US will magically be able to today?

 

As much as regret Obama's actions (or non-actions) on this, I disagree. The blood of this man is on their hands and their hands only, just as the blood of those killed during 9/11 is. Obama's a sad excuse for a US president, but he didn't behead this man and the focus needs to stay on just how evil these barbarians are and not get sidetracked into an endless political blame game.
We took our focus off the enemy and allowed our leadership to the same. No better example of it that the Fort Hood killer being charged with workplace violence when we all knew what it was, terrorism. That was pure politics and it's just one example of why terrorists aren't deterred by us or anyone else. We need to stop the PC BS and call these bastards out for what they are and destroy them on sight, period. I have no mercy for these cowards of Allah.

before they were ISIS, they were "The Islamic State in Iraq".

 

He's trying to lay this off until after November. Only two months to go. He'll blame, try to turn it into a war on women, then say the party of no doesn't know what no is, etc. He'll do whatever he can to change the story, delay any real action, all to secure his voting base.

Saddam knew of the Islamic State rise 10 years ago, more than likely 30 years ago. That's why he killed hundreds of 'em in most ungracious ways.

So if Saddam knew, why didn't Bush know? Oh, that's right!, he DID know. That part of the narrative just didn't fit in with his "Saddam is a brutal dictator who is mean to his people" message.

I don't think it's possible to just get the hard copy of the briefing and think you know what is going on.Generals and Intelligence professionals are briefed, by a briefer. That's what previous Presidents have done. If a General who is familiar with his AO requires a briefer how is it that the President, who has no background of military or national security matters, think he can do without one?

The level of incompetence is incredible... I'm not sure I have the words to describe his rather undeserved level of arrogance that he thinks he can do without an intelligence briefing.

 

No matter what he does, you guys will cry about it.

 

No matter that the world laughs at him, you'll continue to make excuse for him.

 

IMO, Obama has been (and continues to be) derelict in his duty as Commander in Chief. It's not like he's making bad decisions.. he's making NO decisions.. except which club to use.



Doesn't bother me if you give him a pass on this one... but IMO, he's responsible for letting it get this far. He's supposed to be protecting us from these savages. Some leader.

Today's situation in the ME is a direct result of Obama's refusal to listen to his own advisors. As this 'leak' from a Pentagon source indicates, they may not go under the Barack Bus willingly. I look for more 'leaks' like this one.
