When Jesus said to turn the other cheek he was teaching non-violent resistance as a way of coping with the Roman occupation.

Christians have made their wars in the Middle East off and on since the Crusades.. Notice the time periods when Christians left...

Many Christians left in 1948, 1956, 1967 and 1973.. and then again when Christians overthrew the Mosadeeg... and more recently with Bush's war on Iraq.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amalek
"Frequently Jewish fundamentalists refer to the Palestinians as the 'Amalekites'. The Palestinians have been associated with Amalek since 1974 when Rabbi Moshe Ben-Tzion Ishbezari of Ramat Gan made the association in a book.[23] The equation began to circulate in Gush Emunim circles, and its full implications were spelled out by Rabbi Yisrael Hess in 1980.[24] A former campus rabbi of Bar-Ilan University, Hess published in the university's student paper in February 1980 an article on "The Genocide Commandment in the Torah",[25] in which he concluded that:
'The day is not far when we shall be called to this holy war, to this commandment of the annihilation of Amalek.'
Hess's reference to Amalekites was later taken in Israel to be an allusion to the Palestinian Arabs, especially since he spoke of a jihad.
'Against this holy war God declares a counter jihad . .in order to emphasise that this is the background for the annihilation and that it is over this that the war is being waged and that it is not a conflict between two peoples. . God is not content that we annihilate Amalek -'blot out the memory of Amalek' - he also enlists personally in this war . .because, as has been said, he has a personal interest in this matter, this is the principal aim.'[26]
In 1982 Danny Rubinstein, in his book On the Lord's Side argued that this notion permeates the Gush Emunim movement's bulletins, citing one such article on 'The Right to Hate' which affiremed:-
'In every generation there is an Amalek. The Amalekism of our generation finds expression in the deep Arab hatred towards our national revival in our forefathers' land.'"

Many fundamentalist Israeli's think they are fighting Amalek still, "In every generation there is an Amalek".

?????? They are polar opposites of each other. ESPECIALLY regarding peace and tolerance. With Christianity

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” .

    In contrast to Islam-

Volume 1, Book 2, Number 26: Narrated Abu Huraira*)
Allah's Apostle was asked, "What is the best deed?" He replied, "To believe in Allah and His Apostle (Muhammad). The questioner then asked, "What is the next (in goodness)? He replied, "To participate in Jihad (religious fighting) in Allah's Cause."

[5.44] ...whoever did not judge by what Allah revealed, those are they that are the unbelievers.
[5.45] ...whoever did not judge by what Allah revealed, those are they that are the unjust.
[5.47] ...whoever did not judge by what Allah revealed, those are they that are the transgressors.

Hassan al-Banna founder of the Muslim Brotherhood said "It is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its laws on all nations and extend its power to the entire planet."

Just as in the 14th century speaking of the sovereignty of the Islamic caliph, Ibn Khaldoon defined it as: "A representation, of the one who has the right to adopt the divine rules, aimed at protecting the Deen and ruling the world (Dunia) with it."

Like Al-Mawirdi before him in the 11th century defined it as: "Succession of the Prophethood aimed at protecting the Deen and ruling the world (Dunia)"

?????The messages are diametrically opposed to each other.

The same way you guys find ways to dodge the peaceful verses in the bible is the exact same way Muslims dodge their peaceful verses in their holy texts, you guys are exactly the same.

No. In Christianity, the more violent verses of the old testament are abrogated by the more tolerant and peaceful verses of the new testament. While in Islam, the more peaceful and tolerant Meccan verses are abrogated by the violent and intolerant verses of the Medinan verses.
Christians "dodge" the more violent verses of the old testament because the New testament tells them to do so. While Muslims "dodge" the more peaceful Meccan verses because the more violent Medinan verses instruct them to do so.

2:106 "Whatever of Our revelations We repeal or cause to be forgotten, We will replace them with something superior or comparable. Do you not know that Allah has power over all things?"

16:101 "When We exchange one verse for another, and Allah knows best what He reveals, they say, 'You are making this up.' Most of them do not understand."

What you tend to overlook in your hatred of Christianity and extreme tolerance of Islam is that Christians have HELPED more people than Islam has members. Christian groups have helped the poor all over the world by bringing food, clothes, medicine and building homes. They don't ask if the people they are helping are Christians, they help everyone. Christians give more to charity than seculars. Can you tell me how Muslims have helped the world in that way recently? Be specific.

So have the Arabs.. in larger numbers per capita than the US.

Look up foreign aid from Arab countries or emergency aid to Sudan, Somalia, New Orleans... just check and natural disaster..

They are generally there first with airlifts of food, medicine, water, tents, cookstoves etc.

I did not know that Musims believed them to be their prophets or their words to be holy. In fact, Muslims do believe Jesus to be one of their prophets.

One day the companions told the Messenger of Allah (S) that such and such woman fasts during the day and prays during the night, gives alms but hurts her neighbour by her sharp tongue. The Holy Prophet (S) said,

“There is no virtue in this woman. She is from the inmates of Hell.”

Then the people said, “Such and such woman just prays the Wajib prayers and fasts during the month of Ramadhan but she never troubles her neighbours.” The Prophet (S) said,

“She is among those who deserve Paradise.”

The Messenger of Allah (S) said,

“There are Three categories of neighbours. First: one who has Three rights upon you. This is the one who is a Muslim and also a relative. Second: One who has two rights. A Muslim neighbour and third: The Kafir neighbour who has only the rights of a neighbour.”

Im an atheist, and among the three faiths, I am least knowledgeable about Judaism, but a cursory reading shows they were exiled from Israel and commanded to be good citizens wherever they go. Read literally, abrogating any earlier commandments regarding Canaanites, Amalekites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.

Since I included passages from the Koran and Hadiths, not sure of your point. And Hassan al-Banna,
Ibn Khaldoon and Al-Mawirdi are muslims interpreting the meaning of those holy words.

Stories from the past, specific to a particular place. No relevance to the rest of the world. And when its a tortured interpretation of doctrine causing troubles today, I really cant blame the doctrine. David Koresh here in Texas claimed he was Jesus Christ and that only he could have sex with any of the women in his compound and needed to collect weaponry for the coming war. I don't blame Christian doctrine.
When Muslims "fight", "kill", "slay" and "smite the necks" of the unbelievers "until religion should only be for allah" because religion is not yet only for allah, I can blame the doctrine. They are following a literal interpretation of that doctrine. If Christians somewhere are dying in the thousands in some conflict because they "love your enemy" and turn to them their "other cheek" whenever their enemy strikes them, I'll blame Christian doctrine.

Jesus said specifically he did not come to "abrogate" the Old Testament,
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place." (Matthew 5:17 NAB)

He also specifically said he did not come to bring peace,
"Don't imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring peace, but a sword."
    Matthew 10:34

I think the idea that God would command genocide on multiple groups of people than all of the sudden at the end turn super peaceful and not want anymore death is absolutely ridiculous and simple semantics. Thats what people just try to claim to make their religion not look violent, but when Muslims try it? Nope, they get attacked left and right, which they rightfully should, but so should the other religions who do EXACTLY the same, they are hypocrites.

    - - - Updated - - -

Muslims use these exact excuses you are using, they say the violent verses in the Quran were only when taking the city of Mecca and that it doesnt apply to today, which is why most Muslims dont kill Christians or infidels, its just absolutely hilarious how big of hypocrites you guys are lol, literally you are using 100% exactly the same excuse as the Muslims but when they do it its not acceptable, what a load of bull (*)(*)(*)(*)

Newsflash: People claiming to be religious hardly follow what Mohamed or Jesus allegedly taught.

The difference is that Christianity has mostly been defanged by secularism. Islam has for the most part has no safeguards against it.
