Sarah Palin: 'I Owe America A Global Apology'

The Huffington Post | By Paige Lavender | Posted: 09/12/2014 11:13 am EDT
    Excerpts:

"Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said she owes America a "global apology" for the 2008 GOP presidential ticket's loss to President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

During an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity, Palin spoke about Obama's long-term strategy for defeating the Islamic State -- a militant group formerly known as ISIS or ISIL -- that he laid out in a speech Wednesday night.

"As I watched the speech last night, Sean, the thought going through my mind is, 'I owe America a global apology. Because John McCain, through all of this, John McCain should be our president,'" Palin said.

Palin went on to compare the Islamic State to Hitler and questioned how seriously Obama is taking the group.

"So when Barack Obama, like the rest of us, hear these bad guys, these terrorists, promising that they will raise the flag of Allah over our White House, for the life of me I don't know why he does not take this serious, the threat. Because yes, it's more than a vision," Palin said. "They're telling-- just like Hitler did all those years ago, when a war could've been avoided, because Hitler, too, did not hide his intentions. Well ISIS, these guys aren't hiding their intentions either."

    ......

IMO: Either our Sarah was having a bad day, was off her meds, or sleep deprived because she made no sense at all in this last episode on Fox News with Sean Hannity saying she wanted to make a "global" apology to America, showing us that she thinks America is the whole planet with the exception of Russia which she can see from her back door......

And it is scary to think of a once vibrant, nubile, dumb, beauty queen who ran, despite any solid credentials, as VP running mate to a senile, republican, war-monger Senator John McCain, who has to be led on and off stage, would still say McCain should be president.

Then she comes out saying that John McCain 'through all of this, should be our president' denotes that she has lost her grip on reality and is still living in 2008. Also: The only 'coming out' I have seen concerning John McCain was he and his close friend and perpetual buddy Lindsey Graham coming our of an elevator looking like two guilty miscreants for photographers..

snide remarks about comments taken out of context doesn't take away from the fact that America is, still, a world leader. So yes, her comments to Sean make perfect sense to me.

I am glad that McCain is not POTUS, although I must comment that Palin had more credentials than Obama, at least at the time.

The sad fact remains that, out of 313.9 million as it were, we had 2 duds to choose from. That's the real tragedy, Americans being led by the nose into ever increasing disaster.

By all accounts to many that look at issues from other than political rhetoric or maybe just the common folks, we would not be in the position today that we are. This includes both on International affairs or Domestic and IMO, Palin would also have certainly been a better VP as either a diplomat or representative from the US around the world, than Mr. Biden.

Speaking of "bad day, WAS OFF HER MEDS, or sleep deprived....you might consider how many people actually thought this of Obama, who actually did suffer from some addictions and for the umpteenth time, she NEVER said she could see Russia from her back door....an image meant to discredit her, you seem to enjoy.

She does not own an apology for anything, nor was she the cause McCain lost, in fact she probably helped it from being the 'land slide' it appeared to be, prior to her being chose. I'm sorry but you need to blame your own electorate, that has now turned on this administration and exactly why your constant attempts to degrade potential Republican Candidates for 2016.

Turning the liberal/progressive GAME around, I'll just suggest your a sexist today and won't be if Ms. Clinton is the Progressive nominee....

She professed to be a Reagan Conservative with a history of self reliance, would be enough for me, but certainly not all...BUT then, just what are/were Mr. Obama's and please don't say a failed "Community Organizer"

    ......

    1) What did Palin's snide remarks say that made you convinced that she made sense in anything she said to Sean Hannity pertaining to America still being a world leader? As a moderator, how could Palin's silly rambling ever have made 'perfect sense' to you? The only reason we are becoming a world leader again is because President Obama is a careful, thoughtful, precise thinker who is conservative in going to war, or putting American men and women back in harm's way like G.W. Bush did.

    2) Wrong: Palin is a quitter who had a beauty queen banner, was woefully unprepared for the office of VP, and the fact that McCain, our pseudo 'war hero' would even choose her for his running mate is a testament to his obvious senility.

    3) There are duds in every occupation, paid and unpaid; look at the republicans in Congress. President Obama has kept us out of a grievous republican induced depression...McCain would have us in a "100 year war" the day after he became president. President Obama has kept our sons and daughters from being killed in yet another Congressional contrived war...and perhaps Obama's greatest credential was that he voted no to the Iraq War. I believe that 2 Americans being beheaded is not relevant to another "boots on the ground Bush War 3" we can disarm and destroy, as Obama reiterated, by droning specified locations to disable the ISIS. I am against another American dying for another useless war. When Obama became president our world leadership was in the toilet as a result of a republican president. Obama brought us back to a conservative approach, sound decisions, peace for six years, and back to world leadership with a sound alliance with other countries to provide strong security for all. History will prove that the president you are calling a "dud" was one of the greatest leaders in history precisely because he was calculating the pros and cons of each decision he made.

Your comment: "That's the real tragedy, Americans being led by the nose into ever increasing disaster" is no longer relevant...In 2003 when the U.S. invaded Iraq is when America was being led by the nose by a republican president...this is now 2014 and we have a president that voted "NO" to the Iraq War...that is a very promising credential that even you must admit.

McCain owes America and the world an apology for making such a ridiculous choice for the 2nd most powerful position in the country. It was a SLOPPY, unvetted, 'hail Mary' pass meant to put the breaks on the smart black guy! Everyone knows it. And thank God it didn't pan out. They could have kept her in 'a box' and a lid on her but NO, she would never have grown into the position. It is evidenced DAILY.

McCain has been known as a maverick. No one ever said McCain was one of the smart guys. But that was an insult and AMERICA is owed better.

was this before or after her family brawl? I thought that was what she was gonna be apologizing for, not for her helping McCain lose the 2008 election....

Yes, her credentials - her accomplishments as governor..... something you libs flatly refuse to acknowledge. Her resume as governor has been posted here several times and libs flatly refused to give her credit where credit is due...... to painful & embarrassing, I guess.

    .....

    1) By all accounts the position we find ourselves in today is because of republican Bush War Aggression in 2003 through 2008, and republican Congressional obstruction, hatred of our first black president, and contrived 'scandals' from 2009 through today.

    2) republicans would believe anything Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Karl Rove, or any republican talking head tells them.....

    3) She was definitely the leading cause of McCain's landslide loss. The electorate worried about McCain's advancing age, health, and mental reasoning but even more about Palin's emotional urge to quit everything she started, and her looking down the sights of a gun in her political ads.

    4) There should never be a need to "turn the game around"...just tell the truth...because truth is heavy enough for a republican to admit.

Biden vs. PALIN? Give me a break. You know nothing. Google him. And Joe's every bit as 'average' in background as PALIN. He grew into his positions at every
    juncture.

AS for the "She NEVER said she could see Russia from her back door." It's a throw away line. It is humor. It is sarcasm. BUT remember all humor comes from truth.
It was a twist on Palin's line. If there hadn't been a TINA FEY at precisely that moment in time, NO ONE would have ever heard or remembered and the 'twist' would
    have never been made!

Yes, I am going to say it! WE ARE SMARTER THAN REPUBLICANS. We can do the math and sciences and reading comprehension. But we also understand humor. We LOVE SATIRE. Our intelligence might be more nuanced, spread among more 'modalities'of intelligence but yes, we are wiser and dare I say smarter!

WE GET THE JOKE! There's a reason why the BEST COMICS are and always have been liberals!

I don't know, Agent. I find those remarks irrelevant regardless whether they are Palin's or Obama's 57 States or whatnot. It has nothing to do with the matter at hand.
America is, and should be, a leader.
As for Obama's credentials vs Palin's, both had little or no experience, although Gov of a State carries a bit more weight than voting when its convenient. So saying that she had no credentials is a non starter. Obama's record speaks for itself. It is my opinion that he was groomed for a possible potus run, and voted accordingly.
A great leader, that is something that history will judge, indeed. At the moment, I see a world in chaos, and a leader checking the wind's direction, nothing more. He most certainly mustn't act rash, but at least he should call evil by its name. Its my opinion, which, incidentally, is worth as much as everyone else'. :)

I don't know where you're from, but in my neck if the woods, not finishing what you started isn't exactly seen as an "accomplishment."

They should do much better vetting for sure. What worries me also are those who fall 3rd in line. Look at the current and last. Both give me nightmares.

She resigned because of a supposedly frivolous ethics investigation, although she was actually found guilty of some violations a year later. You know how often governors are accused of ethics violations? Fairly often, and the vast majority don't cut and run from their post,

I remember Palin's view of hunting wolves was to rent a low flying plane with pilot, and hunt wolves and run them to exhaustion and down on the ground, then shooting them. Like: she is so brave!!
