Ebola spread and Conservative regulation

    Are you a woman? The reason I ask is that the only two people who have ever critiqued my use of a possessive pronoun were women. If I recall, one was my 4th grade teacher and the other might have been in Jr. High. You'd make three, so here's hoping you're a woman.

    Say, anybody else out there, has a man ever criticized your use of the possessive pronoun "it's"?

    I'm glad the thread has taken us here. I'm stumped by the placement of the apostrophe. Between the "t" and "s", it implies to me that the apostrophe takes the place of the omitted letter "i", which is not a possessive use of the word "it's". I often put the apostrophe after the word, as in "the bug eats its' young", but people complain about that too.
    This is lots better. Misuse of the language isn't as scary as Ebola.
