Unless all the voters are all dummies and quite stupid, no, it should not have any effect on future Democratic presidents as only the dumb and dumber would attempt to blame what one president did on another who had nothing to do with it especially when the opposing Republican Party was behind the effort just to be spiteful and divisive and to continue their favorite game, 'Target the Democratic President' with bogus legislation but let's not get real work done for the American people. And do you really think Republicans would go all out to actually lift a finger to help the people most in need in this country with actual legislation that would help the elderly, the poor, women, minorities, the sick and other groups? That's a very sad thought but Don't Make Me Laugh.

Immediately? I'll be throwing a party and dancing in the streets. Then we'll be entertained by everything the Dems try to pull during their lame duck session. Then we'll see if Obama decides to come to the middle or be intransigent. Either way, we'll have two years of not having to worry about any horrible laws being passed or far left judges being confirmed. Anything Obama does by executive order can be easily undone, unlike laws and judges.

    Really?

Why do liberals squawk "Bush" like parrots every time Obama is blamed for the lousy economy, the deficit, etc.?

The majority of voters are quite stupid...the fact that Obama was elected twice is evidence of that.

Exactly how would the GOP reduce Social Security? I would like to hear this one explained in detail because I don't think you can.

If the Republicans take the senate in November, the American people deserve what they get. they'll have to live with it for two years until 2016 and if they can pick themselves up off the floor, they'll be able to make changes. the downside is that social problems will only increase and the death rate will go up.

    are you kidding me; nothing?

    Bullcrap

NY Times, ABC, CBS, NBC, Washpo, Hollywood etc would all have 2 years to say that the GOP is blocking everything and the reason why Obama does nothing.

In other words, the failed POTUS who lacks any skill set would have a scapegoat. The "Ready for Hillary" PAC would benefit greatly if the GOP takes the Senate

If republicans take control of the Senate also, Congress will again become operational. Right now with the senile old fool Reid blocking almost everything, Congress has become a do nothing organization.

Republicans need to take control of Congress so once again there is checks and balances in the Fed government.

When I said that "nothing" would change, even if Republicans controlled both the Senate and the House, I meant that nothing would change for the better, and that nothing would be done to remove the socialist disease of Obamacare, among others. But you're right -- Obama will be able to whine about "obstructionist" Republicans from now until we finally pack his ass off to Hawaii for good, and the propaganda spin will be taken up by all of his ass-kissing "news" media.

The best we can hope for, therefore, is to put this radical, socialist dog "on a short leash". If we can just keep him bottled up in the White House, or out on a golf course from now until noon on January 20, 2017, it will be the best we can do. Which is a far cry from what Republicans very probably could do if they had any focus, common sense, common purpose, or GUTS....

Look, just as you liberals want to expand these programs beyond belief and get as many people dependent on the government dole as possible (all in the name of ‘caring’), there are those on the opposite side of this that feel this is destructive to our economy and to the American psyche. You liberals love your government cocaine. It makes you feel better that all the hard working Americans out there are paying for these people to survive; while many of us struggle to survive ourselves – though we are surviving through hard work and not giving up. I’ve heard it too many times from folks: “I pull in more money collecting unemployment or social security disability or welfare than if I were to get a job at minimum wage”. My neighbor has told me this. And the government just keeps the addiction alive by extending and extending and extending these benefits.

Liberals see no end to what the government can and should provide. Conservatives not only see that other peoples’ money will eventually run out, but that this is not the role of government: to provide everyone their every living need. People you and me see things fundamentally different. There is nothing compassionate about getting people addicted to government money. It’s just another form of slavery.

You seem to believe they will have a super majority to override Obama's Veto, that is not going to happen, so the stuff you suggested will not happen, not to mention if they did try the Elections in 2016 would see every Republican candidate lose by a landslide and basically end the GOP as a major Political power in this Nation. I doubt the GOP is even stupid enough to try what you suggested, now a few idiots within their Party might but I doubt they will get far pushing their stupidity.

Sure, not increasing social security is cutting social security in Lala land. That ranks right up there with taking money from one program and giving it to another and call it "savings" and increasing spending by 5% instead of 10% and calling it an austerity budget cut.

Cutting the SSI program, which isn't technically social security, is about the only thing they could do.

An interesting observation, since it is a tacit admission of GOP obstruction.

As usual with your predictions, the opposite is true.

The Democratic party will just run the same play that the Republicans have been running for years, the filibuster.

And even if McConnell deploys the "nuclear option" and gets the GOP to vote in lockstep, the President still has the veto.

And no matter how well the GOP may do in these elections, they won't have anywhere near the votes to even approach overriding a Presidential veto.

You have to admit that, even before the Republicans took over the House and essentially ended bipartisanship when crafting legislation, Senate Republicans were quite diligent at blocking bills by using the rules of the Senate which used to work when the Senate worked. So, what we're saying now is that if Republicans take over the Senate, they may be able to bring up many of those goofy bills that House radicals really love and maybe even pass some of them. Then Obama, like Bush in his second term, will find the veto pen and nothing will get done as the country slowly slides downhill.

Oh, there's a lot more that can be done, and Republicans know it. Granted, when/if they do, it will be a kamikaze mission that could damage the brand for decades, but I do believe they have enough crazies to try it. Essentially (and this is nothing new) the House kills all funding for various programs that they don't like, maybe one by one with "must pass" legislation; it gets passed in the Senate and then Obama and Congress play a game of chicken. Regardless of what happens, we all lose. And that's why it will be a cold day in Hell before I ever vote for another Republican for high office.

The new GOP Congress will schedule about 549 more meaningless votes to repeal the ACA while the FOX parrots squawk - with apparently no sense of irony - about the President wasting time and taxpayer money playing golf.

I look at it this way -- Obama is obstructing the Republicans' plans.

    He's not Dictator yet.
