Wealth is a function of production. Production is a function of labor and resources. Assuming a fixed amount of resources, less labor means less production means less wealth. If you were on an island with idle resources, having more workers would allow you to put those idle resources to use which increase everyone's quality of life on the island. The same logic applies to America. We have a vast amount of idle resources that an increased labor pool could put to good use. The entire point of supply side economics is to increase supply, so why wouldn't the same logic apply to the supply of labor?

Those large cities are more often than not run by white people whose descendants came from Europe. Why would I want them in my community over a hard working immigrant from Mexico who will watch my kids for a market rate? Skin color is meaningless. White people like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are destroying this country, not minorities.

So 2008 was a huge repudiation of conservative policies?

Like I said, the political fortunes change like the wind. Entrenched people do not determine elections - independents, undecideds and flip-floppers do. And they swing like pendulums lol.

California's economy would collapse overnight without its illegal immigrant population. They do the dirty jobs that snobbish Americans refuse to do and they do it at a market rate, which helps to keep prices from spiraling out of control.

If liberals REALLY thought they had to change their views to win elections, you'd see a shift to the right in the Democratic party. In truth, society in general is shifting leftward, overall. Small ebbs occurs, but the trajectory is unmistakable. Truly, it's conservatives that have always had to shift :)

I guess Japan should be really poor and African nations should be really rich as they have the largest population and labor growth by far while Japan has a decline in labor and a lot less resources. Could it be there are other factors to consider beyond raw labor? I wonder...

the election of 2008 was a case of people not knowing what the democratic party was all about. Now they know. Most did not think the last 6 years was possible. They thought electing a democrat would be like voting for bill clinton. Instead they were tricked by a radical leftist who was ideologically against traditional america. it will be quite a while before the populace gets fooled by democrats again. it sure as hell wont be hillary. this is just the beginning. wait until the Republicans perfect their ground game. since 2008 Obama has lost more senate seats than any president since harry truman. if you dont think thats a statement i dont know what to tell you.

sad but true, that and people that actually get out and vote, just being a for a party doesn't count unless you actually vote

most repubs got out and voted, they won, many dems stayed home and didn't bother to vote and they lost

You're forgetting about demand. You can give millions of people (labor) a broom (resources) and have them poke holes into the ground. That doesn't mean they are adding anything of value to an economy, as nobody is going to pay them to do this. If we have a surplus of unskilled workers and not enough jobs for them, adding more of these workers from another country will not help the economy.

Why? You want many of the same things as those "white people", like amnesty.

To further clarify my point, I wouldn't be opposed to a system where we imported only the best and brightest workers into the country, from wherever they came from in the world. We're not getting that from Mexico.

Care to point out, using polls, which issues the general US public stand with Republicans on?

Because I guarantee, despite the demonising, Dem policies attract a LOT of support. People don't like cuts, do they?

Of course there are other factors. I specifically mentioned taxes and regulations in my earlier posts. I'm starting from the assumption that a basic market economy with idle capacity is in place and that increases in labor will be beneficial for such an economy. That is perfectly consistent with economic principles of wealth creation.

The problem with your assumptions is that you believe the immigrants we are importing are capable of working the jobs we need in order to reduce idle capacity. Their high unemployment rates suggest that this is not the case.

    Pretty sure it is.

And assuming what you said was true, it would be an argument in favor of reforming welfare, not opposing immigration from "non-white" poor countries.

And I'm really NEVER this condescending, but I've decided I'm just going to be honest and tell it like it is.

like I said..... we are done now

democratic underground posters saying hillary running is a shoe in for a republican president ROTFLMAO

CNN saying the war on women tactic worked because republicans voted for women candidates.

    Loony liberals right now

One thing is for sure....the blue wall has come crashing down
