    Apparently he had been threatening the community for MONTHS even waving his gun openly towards them. ("Sympathetic" cops in the community??)

    A 15-year-old boy died on Thursday night in spite of doctors’ efforts to save his life after he was deliberately struck by a car in a collision that severed both of his legs.

    According to Kansas City, Missouri’s WDAF-TV, the boy was exiting the Somali Center of Kansas City with a friend when a driver in his 30s rammed his car into them both. The driver reportedly targeted the boys because of their Muslim faith.

    The attack took place on Thursday at around 5:30 p.m. as the boys were getting into a parked car.

    “It became pretty clear that this was not an accidental crash, there is a considerable amount of evidence that leads us to believe it was intentional,” said Sergeant Bill Mahoney of the Kansas City Police Department.

    The second boy was not seriously hurt in the impact, but the deceased 15-year-old’s legs were severed at the scene and he reportedly lost a tremendous amount of blood. Paramedics rushed him to Children’s Mercy Hospital where a surgical team labored in vain to save him.

    The suspect reportedly rammed the boys and the second car, then tried to flee the scene, but his vehicle was too badly damaged. Police said that he then tried to run away, but was apprehended.

    The boy’s family and other people involved with the Somali Center told WADF that the suspect has been threatening them for months, even waving a gun at some attendees and telling them he was going to kill them for being Muslim.

    So you think they contacted the police but not the FBI? What is your information on this? What do you base this on? Or is this the "War on Police": starting up?

    Oh agree this case is a hate crime however a little consistency would be nice...

    Yep, a true tragedy. If found guilty of a hate crime that led to murder -- like say a swarm of feral youths shouting Kill Whitey, which they then proceed to do with hammers -- then he, like they, should be executed. End of a group of human filth polluting the world. So we are on the same page at last. Now ain't that nice?

    I said they MAY OR MAY NOT be too terrified to report these incidents. WHERE WERE THE COPS?? The community should have
    gone 'around' the local cops to report it to the FBI?? Yeah, that always works real well in any community. MORE OVER, WTHEF didn't the cops report it to the FBI??

    Absolutely agree. Both are tragedies but only one is considered a hate crime. It would be nice if people started treating these incidents equally.

    There's so much wrong with that Mark Wahlberg wannabe, I don't even know where to begin.

    Then again, I've always wondered why nutjobs figure they're gonna get people by ramming their car into the victims car. DUH - now you've crippled your OWN getaway vehicle.

    But I suppose asking for logic from these guys is asking too much.

    AMAZING how obtuse this country and this board is on the concept of the OPPRESSED and OPPRESSOR. Perhaps, we need more PSYCHOLOGY of group dynamics before kids are poisoned with the stupidity of the above from their mommies and daddies! We do NOT get to redefine the term hate crime to NEGATE the words and actions inflicted on generations of 'out groups'. It's utter BULLS...!!

    As for violence in general?? I won't hold my breath. I wonder if we are re-spiking our lessening 'violent crime' incideneces. Could be that it is just instantaneous 24/7 media covering it. But it could be INCREASING. Or maybe dead raped women in woods and ditches and black children being shot in streets and big dark men dying for selling illegal cigarettes in a big city is finally WORTH MENTIONING.

    Just to clarify, the suspect is apparently of Somalian descent. I'm wondering if there isn't more to this story since the young boy who was murdered by this POS was the son of the current leader of the Somali Center.
