California has no intention of following federal immigration law and unlike Arizona, that got sued by Eric Holder for upholding the law, it will face no ill consequences (for enabling law breakers within it's borders).

How can anyone respect a government that has no respect for it's own law?

 

That's weird since you have to be insured to drive but then the site also says you must have an SS number and proof of "legal presence" to get a driver's license. So since the site is a private one and not California government affiliated perhaps it isn't totally up to date.

Somewhere along the line we forgot that they are in this country ILLEGALLY.

Heaven help you if an illegal plows into you and puts you in the Hospital for 2 weeks or more. That $10,000 will be gone in the first two days. Good luck at suing them later, you'll never find their real name.

 

A driver's insurance does not pay for medical costs. Your medical insurance does. Liability insurance compensates your "injuries" not physical injuries or medical costs... to 10K. You still need medical insurance.

 

States have allowed IA driver's licences for a long time now...You just realizing that?

If a driver is at fault in an accident, he and his insurance are liable for ALL the victims expenses. The insurance company is liable to the policy limit ($10,000), the driver is liable for anything above that.

 

I've worked in an industry that has hired illegals for years. They cannot get a drivers license in my state but that doesn't stop them. I know for a fact one of them got in a pretty bad accident while he was drunk. He hurt the other people but he was ok. Guess where he was the day after they let him out of the drunk tank, on his way back to Mexico.

I've seen or heard of so many accidents here in the middle of the illegal vortex where an illegal will just abandon his vehicle and quickly leave the scene of the crime. Quite a financial hit for someone but an unlicensed, unregistered, uninsured 2nd or 3rd hand junker vehicle is designed to be disposable in just such an event.

I am certain most illegals will find a way around the law or just do without insurance anyway as they do already in states like New Mexico where licenses for illegals have not solved the problem at all.

Correct, Colorado did the same and nothing has changed in the name of safety, we even give them in state tuition. Sure looks good on paper and with the voting base.

 

As long as they are here properly. Illegals are not here legally and shouldn't be allowed the privilege.

 

I don't have exact quotes handy but enablers of AB 60 are "certain" and "confident" that the things that have happened in every other state that have given driver's licenses to illegals (no appreciable difference in the number of uninsured and unlicensed drivers on the road) will not happen in California.

Even if insured, under California's new cut rate insurance for illegals program, you will be liable for almost all costs of an accident in any case. Your welfare is of no importance. You aren't one of the protected class.
