What do you think about punishing people for crimes they didn't commit just because they're white? I think, that's like saying: All Muslims are terrorists, all blacks are thugs/ghetto, all Mexicans are thieves, etc.

I answered "Yes", but I would qualify that by saying that all too many whites are racist (especially towards blacks), just as there is quite a bit of racism among blacks and hispanics. The difference is that lots of whites have positions of power so their racism has more of an impact. And before I get accused of racism for that comment, look at the total numbers of positions of politicians, senior businessmen and managers and bureaucrats, and even military officers and senior police officers and what percentage of them are held by whites (usually men, to boot).

Its not racist to hunt down Thugs and Terrorists.

And no, not all Muslims are terrorists and not all blacks are Thugs.

Most whites are actually anti-racists and die-hard racists only constitute a small minority of a white society as is the case with Islamic extremists in a Muslim community. There are always criminal elements who cannot tell right from wrong in any ethnic groups, partly caused by economic deprivation, and blacks can be as viciously racist as their white counterparts. If Australian Aboriginals are put in positions of power, they would start oppressing non-Aboriginals.

I'd say most are neutral in matters of race. Which is to say, they don't particularily care either way. Racists are a small minority, but as are antiracists. And with anti-racists I mean people who make a big deal out of being opposed to racism, just like racists make a big deal out of race. Most people, of any race, don't make a big deal out of either racism or race.

Technically yes. It's a form of racism, since on the base of the common sense, it generates social discrimination [racists are not welcome, generally ...].

Put "No" because it's ignorant to assume that. Not necessarily racist.

I disagree. I think blacks are more racist than whites. Also, your "facts" about the military are skewed by the Fact that very few African Americans even tryout for OCS or commission through ROTC or an academy. That's their own choice.

Why do the true racists call white’s racist?

In 2012 the white vote was 56 vs 44 for Romney and the black vote was 95 vs 5 Obama.

OK, that was a special case!

In 2016 the white vote was 60 vs 40 for Trump while the black vote was 90 vs 10 Clinton.

Yes it is true that whites do have a tendency to vote republican, but by a far less percentage than Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians vote democrat. So which groups are more racist in their voting patterns?

So. I’ll just ask it again: Why do the true racists call white’s racist?

I do not really care about the "racism" myth but I would like to cash in on some white privilege. I have not experienced that yet and feel I am being short changed!

I have no idea what you mean by "all too many" or "quite a bit". I have met extraordinarily few people of unkind intent, or who display evidence of open or easily definable bias when discussing or interacting with individuals.

I have however noticed that the majority of people I talk with, hear in the media, or read seem to make generalizations about group identities. Sometimes they are the racists typical of identity politics (the KKK, La Raza, BLM), but most often, they make disclaimers stating unequivocally that not all in the category are like that.

What makes this problematic is that most often, people are not actually discussing race, but rather culture. Obviously, values, attitudes, and behavior tend to be similar for most people within a culture/subculture, and often differ between cultures/subcultures.

This distinction is why my favorite definition of racism is "attributing culturally based behavior, beliefs, and values to genetic causes".

Regarding your suggestion that the major impact is by people in "positions of power" (police included), consider the following.

True, some people in positions of authority may apply bias in hiring, promoting, and making policy, but the mere public accusation of racism is enough to destroy careers IF the accused is White. I think that tempers any tendency toward enacting whatever bias there may or may not be.

White racism is not making inner city Blacks commit crimes or do drugs.
White racism is not responsible for kids not doing homework or attending school regularly.
White racism is not behind the rate of single motherhood in inner city Black neighborhoods.

On the other hand, I think there is much more damage caused by the racism that expects Whites to be racist, and that expects the system to be stacked against Blacks and Hispanic due to the racist myth that has come to be called "White privilege".

I came into contact with a lot of this from middle school and high school students, (all of whom would be between 25 and 45 years old now), so my information is only anecdotal, and 7 years or more old. Obviously, the kids I am talking about are not necessarily a representative group; these are just things that many kids told me they think or assume. As an inner city teacher in both Southern California and Texas, I met far too many kids who actually stated the following things.

    1. White people who have good jobs got them because they are White.
    2. White people who have good jobs did not have to work as hard as minorities have to work to get good jobs.
    3. When a Black person is unsuccessful, it is because of White people, or the White system being racist.
    4. When a Black person is successful, it is because of herculean efforts against the White system that was aimed at preventing Black success.
    5. The system is pro-White, and it not only has an interest in promoting White success, but in hampering Black and Hispanic success. Some kids told me they thought this was intentional, and some said they thought it was accidental. None could point to specific evidence, or explain how the mechanism worked. (It was kind of like the Dave Chappelle skit where Black people are denied a loan at the bank, but the bank just gives White people stacks of money without loan papers.)
    6. Things like school attendance, homework, graduation, college degrees are less likely to be useful to Black people in achieving success than for White people.
    7. Black people being poor, using drugs, having criminal records, not graduating high school or going to college are the result of historical and contemporary White racism against Blacks, and are intentional tools to maintain the White racist system.

Numbers 5, 6, and 7 are where the most damaging racist attitudes and beliefs. Many of these kids truly believed it was a waste to put any effort in doing things that naturally lead to success. They also expressed the corollary that it was a waste to eschew self-destructive behavior. The racist views these kids held relieved them of feelings of personal responsibility for their success or failure, because they saw it all as White people's fault.

Many kids even went so far as to discount the success of people like Ben Carson (His book Gifted Hands was required reading at Gompers Secondary School). Their explanation was that Carson's success was the result of "becoming White", basically being a race-traitor. This is where the conflation of culture and race is so destructive. These kids insulted other Black kids who used grammatically correct English, did their homework, wore business casual attire to school (no sagging pants, etc.) as not being Black. I watched kids be marginalized by their racist friends for picking up on cultural behaviors that lead to success, and some of these kids caved into the pressure and gave up.

So no, I completely disagree that White racists in positions of power have more of an impact. We see whole districts affected by these racist assumptions, and then individual residents create by their own behavior high crime rates, low graduation rates, and unkempt neighborhoods, and epidemic poverty that results from these things.

Although I missed the survey, I will say NO, it is not racist to assume the Caucasians are racist. It would be naive to think that they are not being that we are all in a nation and and a worldwide culture with traditions that assume many things that are incorrect in regards to what the common person refers to as race. Racism is found in all five spheres of activity people engage in on a daily basis. The five spheres are: Education, Religion, Economics, Politics, and Entertainment.

Not all, because in South Africa apartheid was born,
but in South United States we can really find a lot of friendly white folks.
But one things for sure it's just a subjective pure declaration of showing supremacy against another,
or else twisted minds rule over like what happened with Dylann Roof about what he did in Charleston Church.

There has been a fair bit of discussion about the term "racism" in the aus/NZ section. Just quietly, it is a word that is misused!

PapaGeek, you statistics have very little to do with race if anything at all. The fact of the matter is most registered Black voters register as Democrats, which is outlined in your statistics. As for the definition of racist, do you really know what a racist is or are you just playing the usual "well Black people are racist too" game?

Dylan Roof and what he did is an exact consequence of integrationist thinking as well as having the usual Leftist anti-gun mentallity. Had a parishioner in that church had a gun, that little beast would not be in court with the prosecutor not seeking the death penalty.

The trends of certain racial/ethnic groups have been obvious for hundreds of years.

If intelligence and behavior are not inherited like skin, hair and facial features---then where are the scientific DNA-linked studies that show otherwise?

The real question should be, "Is it racist to conduct racial DNA testing on intelligence and behavior?"

The answer is always "yes" and this is why no modern studies have been attempted.

Language is dynamic and racism has been defined differently in different years. Racism as it's used today (and I believe for a very long time) means more than generalizing trends or traits between groups by racial classifications. It means judging one. Deciding that there is something hard coded into that race, something definitive of that group of people, that makes them superior or inferior to other groups of people.

On a gut level, my first reaction is to agree with you. And the original example may be racist. But I think it's important to recognize racism is more than just generalising or even stating a preference. It's believing race makes someone better or worse than the next guy.

    racism
    noun

Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.

The belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.

It's generally assumed that around 5-10% of a population is ultra-nationalists and far-right groups are usually supported by less than 10% of the population. Less than 10% of whites are racist as far-right parties usually gain around 10% of the vote. The vast majority of white Russians do not endorse their racist platform. This can be said of any ethnic groups and one in ten people of any ethnicity may harbour extremist beliefs and the rate is much higher in India and Korea, where there may be many dangerous nationalists who chase away foreigners.

Here is what I have realized in fact about racism. Racism is the vehicle of White Supremacy. White Supremacy is reliant upon racism for its existence. What is White Supremacy you may ask? White Supremacy is a global system of dominance and control instituted by white people (Caucasians). Coming from this reality, it is clear to see why it is not prejudiced nor bigoted to assume that ALL Caucasians are racist because it is commonplace for Caucasians to utilize racism and White Supremacy for their own benefit.

Are there, by any chance, Black Supremacists? Hispanic Supremacists?

Is there any large Black enclave or city in the US that has too many Blacks and that you and yours demand become less Black? Same thing with Hispanics?

What do you mean by Black Supremacists? Demand to become less Black, what type of question is this?
