Why would they have to make it up? They'll be saving millions of dollars a year by not paying for pregnancies and deliveries, post-natal care and an extra person on the policy, won't they? I can't imagine why they weren't doing that on their own - especially since they pay for Viagra.

They aren't forcing anybody to USE birth control - just to make it available to those who need or want it. Why do you object to that?

Women undergoing chemotherapy treatment should not get pregnant. They NEED birth control. There are also women with other medical conditions such as heart disease, kidney disease and so forth who should not get pregnant.

Pregnancy isn't a disease but women with other medical conditions can die from it just the same.

I think you're the one with the reading comprehension problem. They have to offer their EMPLOYEES contraception coverage in their insurance policies. They aren't being forced to stand on the street and hand out condoms. The women employees will be free to take advantage of the coverage or not. Nobody is forcing them to USE contraception.

Do you have the right to impose your religious beliefs on others? Why? If you don't like the law, change it. Then sit back and expect to lose every national election from here on out.

Not surprising. They believe it is their duty to dictate terms to the masses. Since in their own twisted minds they know what's best for everyone, there should be no resistence to their edicts.

If you compare the 10 planks of the communist manifesto, with the bill of rights, youll start to understand why obama wants the bill of rights destroyed.

Non-profit, religious-based hospitals will soon be a thing of the past.

Do these religious-based organizations take federal money? If they do, they have to follow federal rules. That's the way things work.

Don't like that? Quit taking federal money.

:ignore:We do support more birth control. Tell the left lunnies to give up one joint a week of whatever they are smoking and buy their own birth control. Its really not that expensive.

no one is requiring them to distribute birth control, it comes with the insurance their employees buy

another reason for a public option.... religious freaks can't stop meddling with women birth choices

    - - - Updated - - -

make birth control OTC and wont be a issue, why does birth control need to be a prescription drug anyways? should it really be illegal to posses birth control without a prescription?

and as long as were on that topic, make Asthma inhalers, sleeping pills, Viagra, pain medications ect... OTC

should scientologists be able to refuse any plan that includes mental health to their employees? make those drugs OTC too

time to put the power in the hands of the people, not the corps, end the prescription system, end the war on drugs

Big Phrama wants the best of both worlds here. Keep it private and protect their patents so that insurance companies have to cover higher costs. If it's over the counter it's more likely to get competition from generic's and alternative forms of birth control, thereby reducing their profit margins. It's really all about money, while they stick the religious hounds out in front as their moral shield. If only they knew who was paying for their indoctrination.

:oldman:It has nothing to do with treating their patients...its about being forced by the gov't to do something against their religion. Try and read in slow motion...it might help.

So, in this same vein, and on to a different Amendment...

People who don't want a gun will not be forced to get one...

Yet, you lefties attack the 2nd Amendment constantly.

So how is it OK in this instance, but not in the other?

Maybe you just don't understand what's going on.

Nowhere did this argument state that people aren't allowed to have birth control. It is about forcing a religion to provide it against their beliefs. If you can't understand this then perhaps it best you not try to discuss it.

Or atheists to go to services.

You seem to have the same problem. If a religious organization takes federal money, they have to obey federal law.
