I think his impact on American culture is very over stated. For example despite what one commentator said he is not our generations Johnny Carson, he just didn't come close to that size of an audience. Nevertheless when he finally does retire at the end of the year I hope he enjoys it.
Seriously? I hope a lot of things for him and enjoying his retirement is way far down on that list...
Why shouldn't he enjoy his retirement? He made his money fair. Just because we don't like the product doesn't mean he doesn't have a right to enjoy what he's earned in the market.

He's worth $80 million. The morning talk show guys here, suggest it might be something deeper. Stewart controls the show. He could easily tape the show while his kids are in school. He doesn't need the money. Their take: His movie Rosewater was panned and he has decided either to get out of the public eye or spend a lot more time working other projects.

Stewart is a nasty little bigot. He seems to spend most of his time attacking ethnic groups other than his own. He ridicules African Americans with ugly stereotypes, he belittles Hispanics, he insults Christians, he enthuses over the bombing of Africans even as he ignores Israeli brutality. Never. I have nothing against him, just not a fan of his out-of-context style of insulting people... no matter what side of the aisle they're on. That said, he can be quite funny. But Conservatives don;t do what you say in regard to Stewart and you can't prove otherwise. You're just lying. Since you're so easily influenced, you might want to consider it's you who has the problem... and not those who you hate.

It was a comedy show... on Comedy Central. I don't think he needs to be held accountable for accuracy and honesty. He's just a comedian. It sure did seem odd when libs ran here to support the things he said though. While dissing Limbuagh, Hannity, etc.
Or he could be tired of doing it after 16 or so years. I mean, the guys probably getting tired of doing the same thing over and over again. And rosewater got pretty consistently positive reviews......
