    That have clearly adjusted past temperatures down consistently and current temperatures up consistently.

    Why do all the error corrections always get corrected to be hotter in the current times? That defies statistical probabilities.

    This topic has now become painfully simple. It doesn't matter if the data gets buggered by agenda driven Carbonista. Here's what matters:

    THEY CAN'T MODEL IT!

    That's all, folks. Almost every model they have set spinning 10, 15, 20 years ago has failed. This is proof positive that the science is unworthy of becoming the basis for ANY ECONOMIC DECISIONS.

    Model it. Come back in 20 years and we'll talk about your grand plans to steal my liberty.

    When the messenger is a trashy right wing blog with a well established reputation for hyping partsan stories and outright lies, and they are quoting a well known global warming denier with ties to big oil, and a reputation for shoddy work, it's safe to say we're not really dealing with any facts here at all.

    Often enough, the messenger IS the message. If one must cite the Daily Caller, or the Weird Nut Daily, or the National Enquirer in order to support an opinion, there's no need to know any facts, because none are involved.

    Now, if a respected scientific journal reported that data were being systematically fabricated, they would (and do!) cite specific studies, specific authors, specific measurements. And they wouldn't document the fabrication simply by asserting that it was fabricated - they'd go into full detail about the data before and after.

    Then the proper action is to address the claims and not dismiss them. To dismiss a claim based on who a person is or their bias is a logical fallacy.

    The seas are not rising. I work with coastal and inland waters flood issues on a daily basis. Flood plane maps for risk management have not been altered in dozens of years with the exception of having a temporary raising of 0.10 feet above the Sellwood Bridge in Portland based on the construction of coffer dams to build bridges. The mean sea level averages for the past 22 1/4 year cycle are slightly lower for the Oregon Coast than they were for the last 22 1/4 year cycle. These mean sea level measurements are based on actual data compiled by the National Coast and Geodetic Survey and not computer modelling. Sorry, but these are just the facts.

    Direct federal funding to address global climate change totaled approximately $77 billion from FY2008 through FY2013.

    $15 billion a year for shooting up a few balloons, checking some temperature data, playing with some computers, nice catered luncheons so they can scratch their beards, pull their underwear from their butt cracks and get paid big bucks from the government for doing it. That gravy train keeps going as long as they keep the hysteria going. Had they done the carbon tax or carbon exchanges like Gore wanted way back when, they could now claim the leveling off of the temp as evidence what they were doing was working. Was this "pre-planned", I don't know, but it sure looks that way to me.

    As Isaac Asimov wrote, when people thought the world was flat, they were wrong. When they thought it was a sphere, they were ALSO wrong, but not nearly so much. There are degrees of wrong. No model is going to be perfectly predictive. The question is always whether the model is USEFUL for guiding further research or forming better hypotheses. And the models have been useful.

    And YOU seem to have friends who use ignorance of science to grandstand for the yokels. I don't know if you seriously expect McCarthy to deliver a detailed lecture starting with elementary school physics. Sessions knows this - he knows he can smear anyone, and he knows how to do it. He's been doing it for decades. He asks questions that cannot possibly be answered in a way understandable to any non-expert, he does so in a venue where no explanation of any kind can be presented, and then he misrepresents anything anyone says. The ignoranti lap it up. He has pressed your button, and you honked right on schedule.

    And this makes them reliable sources about science? There IS a scientific literature, you know.
